"Tony, the owner, came out to my location to do the cleaning. There is nothing negative about this man or company that comes to mind. Every aspect of the operation went as expected. Bottom line...I'm sure there are other very capable cleaners out there but you won't go wrong using All Points."

"Ramundo and his team replaced an existing wooden retaining wall. The old wall was deteriorating. The work was reasonably priced and the team was reliable and hard working. They did a great job and the wall looks great!"

"We have lived in this house about a year.  (The house is 12 years old).   When we bought the house the inspection report noted that there were cracks in the masonry due to normal settlement.  The inspection report noted that these should be repaired to prevent water penetration.  Doug did a full inspection of the exterior of the house to locate all cracks in bricks and masonry.
It went very well.  All the work done was outside we had a couple of delays due to weather - Severe thunderstorms.
Doug and his crew arrived on time and had all the work done in short order.
The job site was cleaned up and my back porch was much cleaner after they left than it was before they started!

"James came to the house and provided two options - repair just the damaged steps or re-point all the steps. We went with the re-point all the steps since this price was within our budget. The work was completed as scheduled. The additional work on the chimney was identified by owner after the original visit. James was able to work in the additional work on the same day as the steps. The charge for the additional work was reasonable. We are very pleased with the work."

"Albert came to take a look and provide an estimate (I had talked about doing some external painting as well, which I've decided to postpone).  I then took some time picking a color.  Albert came back out to provide some guidance and opinion on that as well ... he was extremely patient with me!  :)  When they came back to paint, they did the kitchen, kitchen doors and trim around the kitchen and the den (which needed some touch up).  They also took on the additional task of removing a child gate prior to touching up the trim on that door, since I wasn't able to remove the gate myself without tearing up the doorframe.  They did a great job and everything looked really good!
I also just realized that this is the first review I've written for this company, but they also did some work for me back in 2006.  They removed wallpaper and painted in 2 bathrooms and then just pained another bedroom.  I was trying to match the trim to the shutters, but had picked a color that was a bit too light and the contrast looked bad to me.  They had already done a bit of work on the trim (although it wasn't complete yet) and I talked to one of the guys, who VERY nicely and professionally offered to match it for me.  So he went to the paint store and came back with a match.  I expected them to be a bit annoyed, since they were just about done with the trim, but he was so helpful and nice about it.
In one of the bathrooms, I saw that they had done touch ups to repair the walls prior to painting that I hadn't even asked them to do.  It's not very often these days, that people either pay that much attention to detail or take the time to go above and beyond to actually do things "right".
I was so impressed with them in 2006, that I hunted them down again this year and I will do the same again next time I need work done.  They did a great job!

"The fireplace looks amazing and works as intended. Alex did a consult at our home and fully described the unit and process. The crew that did the installation was professional and courteous. They were also very careful to make sure they cleaned up after themselves. Other contractors that we got pricing from told us they would not be able to save the stone around the insert. Because the new insert was slightly larger than our old insert, Alex's crew had to cut the stone before they could reinstall it but they did it and it looks really good. Although we had a couple appointments set up for the install which the contractor missed, the final product turned out how I wanted it. I would use Queen City Fireplace again."

"The quality of the work performed was excellent. I am very pleased with the appearance of the replaced section of my driveway The front steps now look as good as new, as well. The cost exceeded the initial estimate, but I have to give them a pass on that, as there were some real surprises during removal of the old concrete (no grade preparation was done for the original driveway, just concrete poured over uneven ground, so in places it was 4" thick, and in others about 12" thick, making removal very difficult). Carlos Concrete did a good job with leveling the site and placing stone over the ground before pouring, and that should result in a better driveway long-term. My only reservation was a delay in removing the tree roots excavated from the site before pouring the new driveway section. They were professional and friendly."

"We've worked with a lot of contractors. Outdoor Artisan is the best we've ever worked with. First off, we interviewed many companies for this project. We were amazed at how many didn't show, promised quotes and didn't deliver, had no ideas and asked us to come up with a plan, or were completely overpriced for unimaginative or cookie cutter ideas. We wanted something that was unique, well made, and beautiful. From the outset, it was a pleasure to talk to the owner's wife, Tracey, who was kind, courteous, and responsive. Clive, the owner, came out and listened to our ideas and asked us some critical questions about how we wanted to use our patio. He was extremely thoughtful and didn't rush through the design process. The design he created was absolutely what we wanted and it wasn't "over the top" - or too much for the size and style of our home. They communicated with us every step of the way, from when they were going to first arrive, all the way through final punch list items. The workers were polite and clean. When they finished for the day, everything was washed down, swept up and put away. When we wanted to upgrade some pavers during installation, Clive and his right hand man, Jason, were very helpful with the selection and made adjustments to their orders and schedules to get it done. When they started to lay stone and the color/design didn't work, they didn't just keep going and complete it in a way that we didn't like. They stopped and told us that they didn't like it, we agreed, and changed the color and design. We are so used to contractors that do not do what they say they will do. It was so refreshing to deal with someone who actually cares about their commitments and reputation. Everyone who has seen our patio has been blown away. It is a work of art and a joy to just sit and look at. It has been two years since installation and we have had no problems. Gorgeous in every way. We are now moving. The patio was a huge selling point and allowed us to get a lot more money for our home than other comps in our neighborhood. We have already contacted Clive to have Outdoor Artisan do our patio at our new home. Thank you Outdoor Artisan!"

"He was upfront in telling me that he didn't have the right tools to cut the tile as I need to have done. He said he would have been able to do it if I wanted the tile on the wall replaced as well. I appreciated him being upfront and giving me some other names of people to contact that would be good for the job."

FAQs for brick or stone tuck pointing projects in Catawba, SC

Masons charge between $70 and $110 per hour. A mason may have a minimum service fee ranging from $80 to $300. Most bricklayers offer free estimates and charge only if you proceed with the project. This clear pricing model assures that professionals inspect your property before beginning work and charge based on your project’s actual requirements.

A professional repointing lasts 20 to 30 years without maintenance and extends up to 50 years when maintained diligently. This process protects your brickwork using high-quality materials that ensure lasting performance and durability. Consistent upkeep preserves its strength and appearance, providing enduring protection and enhancing your home’s overall structural integrity for decades.

You know your house needs repointing when you notice clear signs such as cracked, flaking, or missing mortar and visible discoloration on the brick surfaces. Additional indicators include loose bricks, water damage, and gaps between the brick joints that compromise the overall integrity of the structure. Addressing these issues promptly protects your investment and sustains the durability and curb appeal of your home.

A house needs repointing to preserve both its structural integrity and visual appeal. Mortar acts as a vital bonding agent that holds the bricks securely together. When the mortar deteriorates, it exposes the structure to water infiltration and further decay, increasing the risk of costly repairs. Repointing stops decay and reinforces the exterior, ensuring long-term protection.
