"My experience was great. Derek came out and made me feel right at home. Because I am a single homeowner I was concerned about trust. Derek was very knowledgeable was able to answer all my questions and concerns. He was very professional and did a thorough inspection. He then explained his findings and how the process worked. He went over the brochure about the company. He explained my options of paying and ways of financing. Recently I have had quite a few companies come to give estimates on the foundation and other work that needed to be done. However, out of about 20 or more this company is the second one that I was impressed by. I would highly recommend J. L. Hunt Foundation to all my family and friends as Professional and Trustworthy and has been in this business since 198."

"Robert and his crew did some extensive remodeling for my needs. He installed a new full bathroom, remodeled one bathroom for wheelchair access, and remodeled a third bathroom. His crew installed new tile floors, and repaired the old tile floors. They installed wide doors exterior doors to accommodate wheelchair. And they enclosed a patio into an insulated sun-room. Robert was easy to work with, and was real reasonable. He also did a lot of work under Veterans Administration and ADA guidelines and was qualified and approved to do veteran Adapted Housing. I highly recommend Robert and his crew."

"About a year and a half ago, my wife and I bought a pier-and-bean house and did some renovation work before moving in. Unfortunately, after spending some time in the house with our stuff, we realized the parts of the house were shifting and sinking -- the clay soil in the area where we live is notorious for regular movement. We were connected with Pete Flores from PHL Foundation Repair to complete the work, and we couldn't have been more satisfied with the outcome. Pete responded to our initial phone call right away, and he promptly came out and described a plan to add more piers and beam to the existing foundation to remedy the problems we were having. He outlined the costs and put together a drawing to detail the work, and he was also eager to go under the house, show me face-to-face exactly what the problems were, and discuss possible plans to remedy them. He arrived as planned and on time with a crew of no fewer than 8 to stop the bowing in two areas of the house. He was there every day of the job and always listened to and answered every question we had (and we had many!). As the job progressed, my wife and I soon realized we needed a solution much more comprehensive than we originally planned. This conclusion wasn't reached by Pete trying to sell me on a new foundation, but rather it came from careful thought and a weighing of several different options he gave after my wife and I had asked him a number of questions about other issues we had noticed with the foundation. What was originally planned for a 2-3 week project ended up expanding to about 8 weeks and became the full foundation repair that we really needed. In the end we had about 65 concrete piers poured (he was able to re-use about 15 to save us money) and we installed about 15 piers to go underneath concrete walls/slabs (did I mention we have a Frankenstein foundation?). We also added 100+ feet of beam, countless support boards to strengthen the existing floor joists, and more bolts and nails that any one person can count. Also, we completed a full leveling of the house; it badly needed it after bending all around over the past 75+ years! There were 8-10 men under the house each day for full days of work during the timeframe Pete discussed, and Pete himself was on-site nearly every single day (and had his #2 in charge there daily) under and inside the house. He also was present for the actually lifting of the house, and he made sure to keep the process minimally aggressive in an effort to limit damage from the process (we had minimal cracking of sheetrock and some separation of baseboards from the floor; to be expected when raising the house 5+ inches in some parts!). After the process was done, he also repaired our stucco skirting (which now looks professionally done) and added some air vents. Throughout the entire process, Pete and his team were conscientious, transparent, and highly responsive. He knowledgably answered every single call and text (morning, night, and weekend), and he would contact me on the very occasional days during that time when his team couldn't come out to work because of pouring rain that prevented piers from being poured or jacking from taking place. He also took off his shoes, without being asked, every single time he came into the house. This kind of thoughtfulness made it easy to leave him in charge while my wife and I were at work for the day. We came home, Pete was still there working, and he sought us out to share about anything that came up along the way and his plans to address those matters. Pete is hands down the GO-TO foundation guy in town, the real deal, and we wouldn't trust anyone else other than him for all things foundation. He knows what to do, can execute effectively, stands by his work, cares for his customers, and wants his solution to be the final one for foundation repairs. His reputation as THE in-town foundation fixer precedes him. This is the guy to go to, and his team is the team to use. In fact, later on when I noticed an earthy smell in the crawl space below the house (it's unfinished and can get a little humid) and considered encapsulating it, Pete came right over, talked things through with me, helped identify a much better solution (and kept us from making a costly mistake!), and came up with a solid plan to improve air flow under the house as well as address our exterior drainage difficulties as well. Clearly I'm gushing, but you would too if you wanted to spread the good word about a top home pro in the greater San Antonio area."

"They do outside spraying to put up a barrier. I pay them $215 a year for the termite plan and about $330 for general pest control. I think their price is about average. I have a termite plan with them because the previous owner reported termites in the fence and I don?t want them coming into the house. They will spray inside but I prefer that they don?t. They notify you when they are coming and they are pretty on the ball. If I have issues, I can call them at any time and they?ll come out and address them. They see things that I don?t see and they spray them for me. I don?t usually see anyone because I?m not at home but the person I have met was personable. They?ve been fine for me; they are professional and they come like clockwork."

"I really appreciate David Wells coming out to evaluate my foundation and the need for repair. David was very professional, answered all my questions, and gave me peace of mind about any needed repairs. Moreover, David did not try to give me a hard sell. I was totally impressed by this and believe that Olshan Foundation Repair is a company that you can really trust. That means a lot in this day and age. I really enjoyed David's visit and learned a lot from our conversation. I will definitely recommend Olshan for foundation repair in the future."

"I have lived in my house for almost 30 years.  Because of popular concerns about mold, some dark edges I noticed on the louvers of my registers and an Angie's Deal for $149, I made an appointment to get the duct work cleaned.  The guy was on time, explained the process, then went right to work with his vacuum-brush.  I had to move my furniture out of his way, though, to set up his ladder.  The total length of ducts in my house is less than 20 feet, so the sweeping/vacuuming part went pretty fast.  I have 10 registers that were washed, and they certainly look cleaner now.  When he started talking about mold is when I started feeling manipulated.  I didn't know, and I am still not sure what mold growing in my ducts looks like.  The guy showed me several spots he claimed was mold growing in the pink insulation, then told me how their mold killing chemical works.  He claimed he was giving me a "deal" by using 2 vials of poison instead of one vial for an additional $700.  Infusing the poison through my duct work certainly did not entail $700 of work.  He just sat by the cold-air return for 10 minutes letting the poison mist get sucked into the furnace, then blown through the ducts.  I have no idea what 1 or 2 vials of fungicide costs, but I am sure it is nowhere near $700.  If you are thinking about getting ducts cleaned, shop around and ask about the cost of their fungicide in case they find some mold.  The guy kept saying I should be grateful my "problem" doesn't require mold-remediation, which apparently is far more expensive.  Angie's List lead me to believe I was getting a bargain, but now I feel like it was a rip-off.  I can't be sure what I got for $950, but if I notice a problem in the next 6 months, Speed Dry will come back to my house for free.  I guess that might be a "guarantee."  The awful smell lasted for nearly 2 days. <br />"

FAQs for foundation, basement or crawlspace waterproofing / encapsulation projects in Cedar Park, TX

The most affordable way to waterproof your basement is with interior methods like waterproof paint, costing between $1 and $8 per square foot, or silicate concrete sealers priced at $4 to $6 per square foot. However, these solutions are only suitable for certain issues. If your basement moisture is due to more serious problems like a cracked foundation, you'll need more extensive (and costly) repairs.

Absolutely! Waterproofing your basement is a smart investment that can increase your home's value. By keeping your basement dry and free of moisture problems, you protect your home's structural integrity and make it more appealing to potential buyers. Plus, taking proactive measures now can prevent costly water damage repairs down the line.

The time required to waterproof a basement depends on the selected method. Some approaches to interior waterproofing, like paint or sealant, can be completed within a day. Installing new drains or weeping tiles will need at least two to three days of labor. Any forms of exterior waterproofing that require you to excavate land will require an additional three days of work to prepare the ground.

Yes, basement waterproofing can significantly increase your home's value. A dry, leak-free basement is a strong selling point for potential buyers, enhancing your property's desirability and market price. Investing in professional waterproofing not only protects your home's structural integrity but also ensures a healthier living environment by preventing mold and mildew growth.

Waterproofing both the interior and exterior of your basement offers the best protection against moisture. Exterior waterproofing stops water from penetrating your foundation, while interior methods manage any moisture that does enter. If you must choose one, exterior waterproofing is generally more effective, as it prevents water from reaching your home's interior in the first place.
