"Over the last decade we have have requested quotations and issued purchase orders to various asphalt paving contractors, and King Kurb been the best performer for driveways, parking lots, and small roadways. Depending upon what is needed, they do remove & replace, capping, and sawcut & repair, including drains. They also do striping. The work itself if first-rate, and the outfit is knowledgeable, and is happy to discuss various options that might be considered, communicating well, and doing the work as promised, weather-permitting. The costs of projects vary because the size and nature of projects vary, but they are reasonable for the specific work being done."

"We have been homeowners for over 28 years and have never been treated this way by any company. We were told that we would be scheduled for service as soon as we mailed our check and contract. We have been put off numerous times. Lots of empty promises. HD Sealcoating finally showed up after numerous failed dates to tear out our driveway and they insisted that we needed to pay an additional 9 to 10,000 dollars above our original quote. They claim that our driveway was a foot thick. It is a standard residential drive and we have sent pictures showing the average 2-4 inches thick with a tape measure. Our driveway is halfway demolished with major safety issues, screws sticking out all over and our neighbors yard was also damaged during the process. They have left our property a mess!"

"Their crew was amazing! They repaired several patch areas in my driveway and informed me one of the issues was due to a root from an old tree. They took extra time repairing that particular area and even patched an area that was not on our diagram, but knew it should be repaired. They will return in several weeks to sealcoat. Wonderful company!"

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Center Line, MI

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
