Some painters I called never did come out to see the job, just gave an estimate over the phone or e-mail based on square footage. In my college days I worked as a house painter for more than one company, and have always done my own interior painting. With building a new home, I knew I wanted it done professionally. I was really impressed with the level of detail and man hours devoted to prep work. All new, primed, solid core doors and trim moldings were thoroughly sanded prior to priming again and then 2 coats of sprayed finish paint. They were very careful about accidents, we didn't have any, and made sure they left the job picked up and tidy every day. Payment draws were requested in a professional manner and the final cost did not exceed the proposal estimate by a penny. In new construction, drywall "nail pops" can show up weeks later after painting and did in a couple of ceilings. We painted our great room in a color that, once we saw it, we hated! All repairs, re-rolled ceilings and even our "boo-boo" color mistake was taken care of with only an extra charge for paint. We are extremely pleased with the final result, and I am picky about paint.
