"The overall experience was really good. Scott kept in touch with me via phone and email after our first contact. I got advance notice about when they would be available to do the work, and the day the work was scheduled, they showed up on time. I was given a walk through on everything they needed to do, they gave me some options where decisions needed to be made. The crew was respectful of my property. They were not loud, they cleaned up everything in their work area. I'm satisfied with the finished result, and with the price I was given. I'm building what is basically a free stone retaining wall on one side, and I was even given some tips on how to make that go smoothly! I've very satisfied, and if I need this type of service again, I'm going to call Green Landscaping first."

"We were impressed with the quality of the work Ryan's team completed. Amazing! We ran into some serious complications, a spring in our yard, Ryan came up with a plan and our French drains and dry wells are keeping our yard dry and beautiful! They also put in a retaining wall which is beautiful. We would definitely hire Mossy Stone in the future and will refer all of our friends to them."

"Clark's lawn staff are the best - they ask/listen to concerns, always let me know what they're doing to the lawn & provide follow up instructions. They treat the lawn several times per year for weeds, they fertilize, perform soil sample tests, etc. Am the only house on the block with a weed free lawn."

"Did a great job, showed up on time every day that he said he would be there, cleaned up the job site at the end of the day. Very professional and polite. Works quietly (had to make sure he was even still in the house). Priced very reasonable, and will use again for the kitchen floor <br />"

"All workers and the owner were extremely friendly , hard working, and prompt.     they were very professional, marked things beforehand, so that we could see the dimensions and shape of the planned patio.   I asked them to extend a particular curve to make it more pleasing to my eye, and they immediately corrected.    The workers were left here to execute the patio without the owner, and were excellent.   I would use them again, definitely. <br />"

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Chapin, SC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
