"I contacted the owner on March 28 to have him bid on the drain waste vent installation for my new construction. The owner came out the following day. He gave me a bid on the spot. He offered a fair price. He recognized me for my military service and I had a good vibe about him so I accepted his offer on the spot. I had appointments scheduled with two additional plumbers that I cancelled upon accepting the owner's proposal. The owner agreed to complete the work the week of March 31. I followed up on April 3 and again on April 6. On April 7, he responded committing to arrive the morning on April 8. I'm 128 miles round trip from the build site. The owner did not show up. After finally reaching him, he promised to be out by 11:30. A worker showed up by himself at 4:30 and said the job was too big for him alone. It is near the end of May and the owner continues to string me along with false commitments. It is clear now that he has no intention of following through with our contract. "

"Tim Calfo is a liar, a crook and does not deserve the privilege to own a business that serves the community. Do your homework before you hire this company. LONG story short, I purchased a new boiler system. I was promised the new system would work in the same manner as the old one, meaning my home was zoned for different areas with different thermostats (through circulator pumps). The technicians that completed the installation never took the time to learn how my home was setup and did not complete the zoning for the new system at the time of install. Instead of admitting their mistake, I was lied to multiple times and told my previous system was never zoned. (Which is a lie and verified by a 3rd party who has worked in this home prior to me buying it). Now, they want to charge more money to fix it because and zoning was not part of the original contract . This bait and switch type tactic seems to be a common theme for Calfo based on other reviews, they do this pretty often."

"I donâ  t know where to begin to say how satisfied I am with A & J Contracting! I needed my basement renovated ASAP and Mr. Anthony met with me in a timely manner explaining in great detail the work he would perform and how pleased I would be! Let me tell you he did NOT disappoint because he and his partner Mark performed what I call a â  miracleâ  in renovating my basement and went above and beyond my expectations!!!! Iâ  ve shown many the before and after pictures of what I now can call my family room and the response each time was how â  beautifulâ  of a job Anthony did!! If you are in need a great contractor donâ  t look anywhere else but A & J Contractor and call Anthony NOW! My family still canâ  t believe what A & J Contractor did with that old and in bad shape basement!! Very professional and the many years of experience really was on display!! Explained everything in detail so that I understood what I needed to do with my utility tub plumbing, and gave me to permanent resolution for the future. "They dont have a boiler selection selection so. Do not call them. The techs know little to none about steam boilers. They will act like they know what they are doing and instead of fixing the problems they will cause more. They flooded our house for 4 hours after the techs thought I had a water boiler system and filled all our radiators with water. They then said theyd fix what they did wrong and go over our system to make sure we had no leaks. This I was told by Jen the service manager. After 4 techs and countless hours of headaches and tons of damages from the constant running water for 4 hour they decided they were not going to fix the screw ups or diagnose what is wrong. However they offered to give us a refund of our money and they handed us the replacement part they broke free of charge. So now not only do I have to fix the system they broke more but I have also taken days off work to meet with them numerous times for nothing but to have the tech hand me the part. "

From the beginning, he was open to my questions and preferences, and helped me plan and design cabinets to fit in the existing footprint but far surpassed the functionality of my 1980s cabinets. When it came time to do the demo in October, he and his crew were both friendly and professional, and cleaned up after themselves. I watched them repeatedly do calm and focused problem-solving on the fly, and they finished earlier than we expected.
