"I was surprised at how much work it takes to remove old original doors and install new ones. Robbie did an excellent job of detailing what he needed to do to reframe the doorways to fit the new doors to make a solid and tight close. He also painted the doors. Now that it is complete, it makes our garage look pretty - - imagine that! Robbie also installed a new toilet and determined cause of leak for the old one after having two other plumbing companies come out and be unable to resolve the issue over the last 5 years, leading us to not use the toilet. 24 hours later, no leaking and we have a working toilet. "Overall, Get it done contracting did a terrific job on the remodel.
Background:The remodel was an almost complete gut of the master bathroom, to include removal of a wall, installation of a custom shower, two sink counter-top and in-floor heating.  The bathroom originally had a bathtub and two sink counter, all original to the house and cheap quality.  In addition, I required some drywall repair in the dining room ceiling to fix damage from a water leak.
I brought in several contractors (4 in total) to get estimates on the job.  All of the estimates were very similar in terms of cost estimate.  The decision to go with Get it Done. in addition to the positive reviews on this site, was based on the fact that the work estimate included getting all the proper permits and inspections required for the job.  Although the plumbing and electrical rework was not major, I knew it would require proper permits.  Surprisingly, other companies would not do that.
The work done on the bathroom was excellent.  Dave and his subcontractors did outstanding work and were very responsive to my needs.  I had family in town in the middle of the renovation, and they stopped work while they were here, and restarted after they left.  The few minor issues which came up, which is inevitable in a renovation, were quickly taken care of.  The quality of the work was outstanding.  In particular, the tile guy did an amazing job.  He was incredibly meticulous and had an amazing attention to the smallest detail.  Also, the minor drywall repair to the ceiling in the dining room showed the same meticulousness. I cannot tell where the damage was, even though it is a textured ceiling.
The work done on the bathroom included removing the drywall, putting up DUROCK, using redgard waterproofing, installing a privacy wall and bench seat in the shower, putting DUROCK subfloor and self-leveling cement on the floor, in addition to the in-floor heating.  They did drywall repair on the walls, as necessary, installed cabinets and granite countertops on the sink and installed a custom mirror.
In addition to the above, The owner's wife, Melissa, provides consulting services for picking out the tiles, accessories, paint colors, etc, if you require that.  I did, and she provided excellent advice and guidance on the choices for those items in the bathroom.
Overall, the renovation went very well, and I am extremely happy with the results.  The bathroom looks beautiful and more importantly, I am confident the work behind the exterior was very well done.

"The tile work was using travertine natural stone with a lot of high end detail. The price shown was labor only I provided all of the materials as I wanted a higher quality of stone than could be purchased in the Outer Banks. Michael did an outstanding job. In fact my husband commented that he had never seen such perfect grouting on a listello before. He removed all of the old stuff and no damage to the house although there was a lot of tile dusts use to it being natural stone. My only issue was that the job took longer than either he or I anticipated. I wish I had given him a absolute need by finish date before starting. "I initially contacted Tommy through the Angie's List website, and he called me promptly to set up an appointment to visit my home and review the work I wanted done. He then followed up with an email giving me a quote for the work. Since I felt the quoted price was reasonable and he had such good reviews, we scheduled the work for the next week. I became ill later that week, and Tommy worked with me to reschedule. On the first work day, Tommy and his assistant, Lou, arrived as scheduled at 9:00 a.m. and immediately began covering furniture with clean plastic, tenting kitchen cabinets, covering floors with drop cloths, and taping woodwork. Smaller items, such as dining room chairs, were even moved into the garage. Although I offered them lunch, both said that they preferred to work straight through the day. Since I still was not feeling well, I ended up going into a bedroom to lie down and ended up falling asleep. When I awoke at 5:30, they had left, but not before removing all plastic and drop cloths, replacing the furniture, and sweeping the floor. The second day went much as the first, except that I changed my mind about the color for one of the rooms, and Tommy made a special trip to the paint store to get the new paint. The bedroom, bathroom, and den were completed that day, the plaster in the garage was repaired, and Tommy installed the under-cabinet lighting (not normally one of their services but done as a special favor since I had no one else to do it). My house was left in perfect order when they finished, and they even borrowed my vacuum to make sure that the floors were left clean. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience with Always Painting by Tommy. Not only is the quality of their work outstanding, but I felt that their prices were fair. They were prompt and reliable and provided good follow through when minor issues arose. Both Tommy and Lou are gentlemen who conduct themselves professionally, take obvious pride in their work, and go out of their way to try to please the customer. I have already had them back for another smaller painting job and would not hesitate to recommend them to others who might need their services. In fact, a family member who is renovating a house will be calling them for a quotation when they are ready to paint this spring.
