"I needed teo toilets replaced. He replaced the one with expertise and was good about taking the toilet out without spilling any water throughout my home. Volunteered to do research on installing the other toilet due to pipe issues. Overall, great work. Would definitely use him again. "

"We decided to take advantage of free gas line installation from BGE, so we got the multiple estimates from different vendors. PlumbCrazy gave us a fair price, with an itemized estimate, so we could request the work based on our budget. First, they ran the gas line from the meter location and installed the manifold in preparation for inspection from BGE. The plumber was on time and requested the BGE inspection. The test revealed some imperfection in the gas line installation, so PlumbCrazy sent the technician back out directly. After their repairs, we passed the final inspection from the BGE. Then, BGE installed the gas meter line. That done, we got our first gas appliance, a gas stove, and called the company to run the gas line from the manifold and install the stove. Steve kept his original estimate and did great work. I really love working with them. They were nice, on time, and very responsible about their work."

"My husband found Mark to be so accommodating with us in every way.  We were concerned about the cost and he allayed our fears as best he could, however stating that until the situation was assessed underground, it was impossible to truly know the extent of the problem.  Randy came out with a contractor, and they began to dig up the area, trying their best to keep as much landscaping as possible intact.  They found multiple problems with the original construction of the house.  There was a piece of tubing that connected the whole line to the house, and it was never glued together, but rather pushed together, dating the problem back to 2001.  The sewage had been seeping underground into our front yard for a long time.  Randy replaced this piece appropriately as well as the piping that had buckled that led out of the home.  This occurred because no one properly supported the pipes with materials so that this problem wouldn't happen.  They made sure that they put the necessary gravel where it was needed under the new pipes before placing the dirt back.  Once I knew it was a huge job but not sure of how much financially it would cost, I asked Randy if we could make a second payment the following week if it was over $1300.  He called Mark and Mark agreed.  I found this to be immensely accommodating and remarkable for a company.  In the end, we were fortunate that the damage was not as extensive as it appeared it would be.  I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Mark and Randy.  They waived the diagnostic fee and tried to keep things as cheap as possible.  I know because I watched every step.  In addition, the contractor they used cut off an hour of his work fee.  We had used another plumber in the past, and their estimated fee for the service was way over what we were told by Mark.  And Mark and Randy worked very hard to keep the estimate even lower than what they initially guessed.  My husband and I consider ourselves very blessed to have chosen the right company to help us with our home crisis.  I had read the reviews on Angie's List and felt that we should call them.  I am so happy we did. <br />"

"I was very pleased with the service I received from Sheridan plumbing.  At first I thought the price to unclog the kitchen sink was a little pricey (200 and change) but it was a flat fee as opposed to an hourly fee and he ended up having to cut a pipe in the basement in order to unclog it and did not charge any extra.  He gave very helpful advice but did not try and upsell expensive modifications to the plumbing.  He did point out things we may want to consider in the future.  He was polite, friendly, and cleaned up everything when he was done.  I was very appreciative they were able to come on a Saturday.  I called many plumbers and their prices were comparable to other quotes I received. <br />"

"We were very satisfied with all aspects of their service. The technician, Chris, was extremely polite, knowledgeable about water systems, very professional, and was patient about answering our many questions. He changed the sediment filter and tested our water at the end of the visit to be sure everything was right."

"I had two new York systems installed last year by another company that did a great job but their follow up service was awful so I had to search out for a new company to handle the ongoing maintenance. I discovered Service Today on Angies List and I have had a great experience so far. As a prospective new customer they were very patient on the phone answering all my questions. I scheduled a service call and then within 24 hours I had to reschedule it 3 times. Each time I called the phone was answered promptly and the 3 different people I spoke with were equally pleasant and accomodating. Just to have a company these days answer the phone promptly and not be annoyed that you have to make changes was promising. <br /> The Techs arrived on time, were very pleasant, did thier work quickly without rushing (and they could have since it was Friday at 4:00 and they had an hour plus drive back home) and reviewed thier work with me. <br /> While I hope I don't have to have them do any major work I'm feeling confident that if that time comes they'll make the event a lot less painful. Also now that I know they do plumbing and electric I feel like I hit the trifecta of service companies <br />"

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Chesapeake City, MD

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
