"I contacted Caps Road Materials a couple of months back and Huggie mentioned that Asphalt plants are closed and he can help in spring. I contacted again a week back and he immediately got back. We scheduled a day for an estimate and he arrived on time and same evening shared the details. Once I signed the contract after a few times back and forth on my queries. We talked over the phone and scheduled the day of putting the new driveway. He arrived on time and did a pretty good job. Very excited to see the job done and it looks clean. I would hire again for sealing and maintenance. He was very professional and I felt the cost was reasonable. I didn't check many on the cost because I found him very responsive to answer my questions and also proactively following up. I would recommend CAPS over many other similar service providers because of professionalism and responsiveness. He pretty quickly responds to text messages and pick up phone calls."

"First they consulted with us for design of the drainage system. They laid a 3 inch base and 1 inch surface. Work completed in 2 1/2 days. Quality of paving was superior! A company with years of experience in perfecting their workmanship. We would hire again and recommend them for their quality and expertise and professionalism in their industry. <br />"

"Super! I initially chose Got Asphalt for the special deal they were running, as well as the great reviews that were posted. The other reviews were spot on! Darren contacted me within 24 hours of my ordering the special deal, and came out to measure the drive. At that time, we set up a time to perform the work. Darren kept in contact with me via phone and text. The originally scheduled time had to be changed a couple of times due to weather, but when the weather allowed, Darren plus a crew of 3 were on the job, and did a great job!"

"We estimated the amount of gravel that we needed based on square footage of the driveway and told them what WE thought we would need (they did not come out to measure or give an estimate and I don't know if that's normal or not, but I guess I would have thought it was part of their service); however, when we told them how much gravel we needed they asked if there was already a base (which there was) and proceeded to tell us that we probably only needed about half that amount and so that is what they delivered, the first day!  Once the driver got there, he recognized immediately that he would need a second load, which was delivered the next day (not sure why it couldn't be delivered later that same day).  I rated them a B on professionalism because I would have thought they would be able to calculate how much gravel we actually needed based on our measurements.  But they were responsive and punctual on getting the gravel to us when they said it would be there (even though it took two days).  <br /> Just as a side note, they do not actually SPREAD the gravel by hand (using rakes/shovels/bobcat); they do it by using the bed of the dump truck, which worked fine, but we still had to go out and move it around some to get it up against the house foundation etc.  I make this statement only because we had read on some other review that they spread it and assumed that meant manually; it just means they don't dump it all in a pile and make you spread it all out.  I did not base any rating on our assumption. <br />"

"I really appreciated Joel and his communication. Also appreciated mr Lowery. I figured somehow he would be sitting in an office and he was working hard in the “dozer.” You were more expensive than others but I felt you were reliable. I’ve had two instances of Sewer failures less than 4 years after installation. So far , I am very pleased."

FAQs for asphalt paving installation projects in Cicero, IN

Most driveways wrap up in roughly a week. Allow two to three days for installation, followed by an additional two to three days for the surface to cure. Concrete and asphalt follow this timeline, whereas a gravel job often finishes more quickly. Laying out the schedule upfront makes it easier to plan your week and your budget.

Sealer prevents water, salt, and UV rays from damaging the surface. Apply a fresh coat every one to three years, and you’ll slow down the growth of cracks, avoid pricey repairs, and keep the driveway looking sharp. A local professional can handle the job efficiently and ensure even coverage.

Material is the significant driver when it comes to the lifespan of a driveway. Asphalt stays strong for about 20 years, concrete lasts 30 to 40 years, and paver stones can last 50 to 100 years because you can swap out damaged bricks. With regular top-ups, a gravel drive can also reach the century mark. Knowing these timelines helps you map out long-term maintenance and replacement costs.

Repaving strips everything down and starts fresh, letting you change the layout or improve drainage before pouring new material. Resurfacing, on the other hand, adds a top layer over a solid base, giving you a facelift without the need for a complete demolition. Go with repaving when the base is failing; choose resurfacing when the structure is sound and you just need a new surface.
