"I can't believe how smoothly this repair went! Everyone at Falcone--the schedulers who arranged our estimate visit and the repair work, the foundation experts who repaired the porch, the finance people who explained the estimate and our final bill--every single one of them was helpful, prompt, courteous, and great at their jobs. The county inspector who reviewed the porch repair even made a point of telling us what high quality work the Falcone people had done for us! I would definitely call them again! If you're interested in our specific details, this repair was crucial to maintaining our house's structural integrity; since the screened-in porch is attached to the house, if it went down the hill, so would the back wall of the house! The foundation had cracked away from the main house and the slab was cracked and sliding apart at different angles. The men from Falcone excavated, cleaned, and prepped the job site, including washing the bottom section of the slab to promote bonding when the new concrete was poured. Then they poured a porch perimeter slab wall under the slab to stabilize the foundation. In addition, they installed a backer rod and applied concrete sealant to re-connect the porch foundation to house and prevent additional damage."

"Foundation Repair. We have had opportunity to use PowerLift twice in the past. Once in 2005 and once in 2009. The situation was that the clay soil in the Charlotte area expands and contracts with temperature and moisture. What had happened in 2005 was that cracks had appeared in the north side of the brick on our home. I contacted Jim McCown who came out and did a thorough inspection of the foundation. He found that piers were needed around the north west corner of our house. We had the repairs completed and were pleased with the result. They even repaired the cracks themselves so the brick was sound. Fast forward to 2009. We found that we were having problems with some of the interior and exterior doors operating correctly. I again called PowerLift, ready to accuse them of warranty issues with their work. As it turned out, the repairs done previously were fine, but the west side of our house, under the deck, needed remediation. PowerLift came out, dismantled the portion of the deck that was in the way, and stabilized the foundation in that area. Again, the cracks were repaired and the house stabilized. Fast forward to 2023. We're preparing to sell our home, so had Jim come out and verify that the piers were still doing their job. He verified that we were still in good shape. Are there other companies who do foundation repair? I suppose so, but we were so pleased with working with PowerLift in general and Jim McCown in particular that we could see no benefit in going anywhere else. "The project went fine. The drainage situation in our front yard is significantly better. Before, we had a spongy, soggy yard whenever it rained. Drain Designs did just what their name said, they designed a plan to remediate the issue. We now have an "American Drain" in the front yard, which carries water underground to the back yard, and dumps it down the hill toward our small creek bed. The water from our gutters also flows down that way now. We can now walk in our yard, even after a heavy rain, which is a significant change."

"Contacted this company to provide a complete structural engineer report for our new home which was built in 1910. They have a lot of experience with older homes and we felt very comfortable with them from the start. <br /> Jessica Kimes was our project engineer. She is very professional, understand what she is doing, is able to explain everything very well, listened to all of our questions and was extremely helpful. She completed a full scale schematic for us to provide to our contractor who was completing the necessary work. She sat down with our contractor and explained everything she found, explained exactly what she was requiring to complete the work, and answered all of his questions. She even spent time emailing and texting him and us when we had questions or concerns. <br /> She completed a follow-up inspection once our contractors were finished and she found 1 item not completed and required them to return and finish it to her specification before she was willing or able to supply us with the finished paperwork. <br /> She did not come back for a final inspection once that job was done, but upon the word of our contractor, she submitted the final paperwork to us with their stamp of approval and completion. <br /> We will definitely hire them again should we need to. <br />"
