"Danielle with Level-Up Masonry responded quickly and quoted the job with options including partial and complete driveway replacement. I opted for complete replacement, which she recommended, and am very happy that I spent the extra money to do it right. During two weeks of rain delays, Danielle communicated well by text and I was pleased that I didn't lose my place in her queue of jobs. Her work crew (subcontractor) was a family outfit with Israel, Gilbert, a younger brother, and two other men. Two men did the demo and grading in one day using a mini-excavator, and then the full 5-man crew did the forming, pouring, and finishing in one day, which was amazing to me! I am very pleased with the outcome of this job and will add some before-and-after photos to this review to show the dramatic difference this new driveway has made at my house."

"We’ve been real pleased with them. It’s a little family run business and they do an excellent job. They are actually coming out next week and we use the sentricon bait system, so they would be coming out and checking the bait system. We’ve been real pleased with them. They are a termite protection, so we use them on an on-going basis. What they do is they maintain it, but they come out several times a year and check the bait stations. We have a contract with them, so it’s an on-going contract. I think they come every 3 months. They check the little bait traps every 3 months. We pay $3,500 a year for our termite protection. We’re pleased with the price and the quality. If we’re not pleased with people we don’t use them. If we use them they’re an “A” or we don’t use them anymore. We’ve been using them on-going for several years."

"Josh (owner Declarative Concepts) did a fantastic job for us building a master bathroom shower, and tiling the bathroom floor: He gave advice on what design would work best in a small bathroom and showed us how the finished design would look on his iPad. He also advised us on where to get tile and much tile we would need, down to the tile. There was only one or two tiles left when the job was complete – absolutely no waste. <br /> Josh was very personable, arrived when scheduled, left the work area clean and tidy at the end of each day, and finished the project on time. The price was very reasonable for the excellent quality of the work. He did a beautiful job and we're delighted with the results. The glass people we had come in later to quote a shower, were very impressed with the workmanship, said everything was spot on. <br />"

"We chose LG Dirtbusters to do our project, based on reliability, professionalism, reasonable estimate, and previous reviews on Angie’s List. Loren Purcell and his crew came on time every day, and worked well as a team to get the work done. Kept us informed during project, and were very professional. They removed an old crush run/gravel driveway, and our old block patio, and installed a beautiful new and larger concrete patio and driveway. They removed a lot of old shrubbery, and removed and disposed of an old fence and big shrubs along the fence line. Loren was very knowledgeable, and was able to give good suggestions to help with our planning of the project. This company is honest- the crew accidentally bumped an outside water faucet during foundation plants removal, causing a water leak, which they accepted responsibility for and paid plumber for repair. Loren did an excellent job in ensuring there was proper drainage on the patio to keep water away from the house foundation, and there is no longer any pooling of water on the patio or driveway. We are very happy with the results, quality of work is excellent, and would rehire."

"OMG.....our new patio could be pictured in Architectural Digest magazine !!! It is beautiful. We had 4 contractors submit bids on our project. Each of them discussed how they would go about completing the work. Keeler was not afraid to tackle this small, but difficult project due to our condominium restrictions. They did everything they promised and then some. The integrity of this company is beyond reproach. Keeler is so good that he will be doing our son's new patio soon. We cannot say enough good things about this company. BTW: Keeler will be planting our landscaping greenery this spring. We are SO happy !!!"

"Bill promptly responded to our request to evaluate the job. We were only in town on a limited basis and he adjusted his schedule to accommodate us, including working on Saturdays. Bill is knowledgeable about the flora and removed the invasive species leaving the more desirable trees and shrubs. The area had been neglected for about 20 years and our yard looks twice as large as before. We (and the neighbors) are grateful to Bill. Thank you!"

"I will give John credit where credit is due. He discovered he had a problem, and he then made every effort to correct that problem. Not all companies go to that length. He installed the new irrigation clock, checked the zones, and spent time with both me and my wife explaining how the clock works. I would recommend that others try his services."

FAQs for brick and stone patios, walks, and steps installation projects in Columbia, SC

When cleaning your flagstone patio, begin by gently hosing off loose dirt and debris. Use a mild solution of white vinegar and water or diluted dish soap to scrub the surface with a soft-bristled brush. Avoid using abrasive tools, such as wire brushes, as they can damage the stone’s seal and finish. This careful approach effectively removes mold and grime while preserving the natural beauty of your patio.

Flagstone naturally offers a neutral palette that includes shades of grey, black, red, yellow, brown, and tan, and its inherent color cannot be altered. Choosing varieties like bluestone provides a subtle bluish tint that complements many exterior designs. These natural hues enhance curb appeal and create a refined, timeless look in your outdoor space, ensuring a sophisticated finish with minimal upkeep.

Flagstone for a patio must have a minimum thickness of 1.5 inches to reliably support furniture and foot traffic. Using stone that is two to three inches thick is recommended to ensure lasting durability. The increased thickness prevents cracking under load and enhances long-term performance. Investing in thicker flagstone provides superior stability and resistance to weather conditions, ensuring your outdoor space remains both safe and attractive.

You can paint a flagstone patio by using a high-quality, outdoor elastomeric latex paint designed for heavy foot traffic. Painting not only refreshes the patio’s appearance but also creates a waterproof barrier that protects the stone from damage. Regular reapplication every one to two years maintains its durability and visual appeal, ensuring your patio remains both stylish and well-protected.
