"Used this service through the summer for basic mowing on my yard.  I'll start with the good first.  They definitely made sure that my lawn was mowed once a week.  Now on to the rest.  Asked multiple times to have the crew raise the mower blades so that they weren't cutting my grass so short & to stop edging to the ground around the house & other obstacles.  The mowing issue was that they were cutting the grass so short that it was dying & turning brown.  The trimming was even more destructive.  Basically, they trimmed all the way to the ground so every object they trimmed around now has a ring of dirt instead of grass,  I called & spoke to the owner about this & he said he would speak to the crew to remedy the situation.  Next week, same crew, same results.  Contacted owner again.  Was told that he would address it with the crew again.  Next week, same crew, same results.   <br /> Definitely do not recommend for any lawn service from this company as they have made a wreck of my yard. <br />"

He and his crew did an excellent job of eliminating a very high level of overgrowth and making my backyard presentable. Would definitely hire again."

"I first engaged these folks last year with an Angie's List deal and have retained them. The weed & feed they're providing has been effective, and I have actual grass growing in my front yard after years of struggling with ground ivy, violets (pretty but invasive), and dandelions. Don listens to my requests and is willing to work with me to come up with the right solution for my needs. He and his team are responsive and helpful. I'll continue to use this company, with or without coupons/deals."

"Our lawn was a hot mess after 8 years in our house with only minimal care - we would put down fertilizer and weed killer granules a couple times a year but not always early enough or quite right timing with rain. We can manage mowing and edging, but the rest... Finally, we decided to ask for help. <br /> Cragen Lawn Care was well reviewed on Angies List and of the companies we contacted, was the fastest to send someone out to quote the care.  While the number of applications (5) is a fewer than some of the others, the lawn seems to be doing fine.  The person who quoted the work was actually one of the owners and the couple of times I have called to ask about when the service was (once for scheduling around tree planting and once since the weeds were getting bad), we have received calls back within 48 hours. <br /> The lawn looks better than it has since we moved in.  We get a little card stuck in a holder near the driveway to alert us to stay off the grass and an additional note in the door handle to indicate what was done and if there is anything we need to know - sharpen blades, raise mower deck, water, etc. We will definitely be using them next year! <br />"

"Purchased the Angie's deal and informed him that our lawn mower was a zero turn mower. He subtracted the Angie's list price and I paid the difference since the coupon was for a self propelled mower. He showed up ahead of time and performed the work in the rain on Halloween. Changed oil in the mower and snow blower and sharpened the blade on the mower. Very professional and would use him again. <br />"

"It went perfectly. First, the quality of the work performed was top notch, including clean-up. Leo and his team cleared four beds and prepped them for mulch, including seven large ornamental grasses. They also removed a dead shrub and trimmed the rest.  <br>Beyond fantastic work, the customer service was more than I could have asked for. I had a couple of scheduling conflicts pop-up and the team adjusted their schedules within minutes to make sure they could get out here. "There were two parts to this work, getting an estimate and doing the job.  Davey's did very well in both, in contrast to my experience with other tree companies.  To schedule the estimate, it was done through a combination of phone and email and the person managing the appointments was friendly and capable.  Then the arborist who came to the house was professional and thorough.  There was a miscommunication about other work I had wanted assessed, so the arborist came out again and added this to the overall job estimate.  This was quickly communicated to me by email.  After agreeing to the work, we scheduled the time for the job to be done.  The crew showed up on time, waited for a storm to finish, and then got promptly to work.   All the trees were nicely trimmed, fertilizer treatment given (and hopefully the benefits will become apparent soon).  Excellent staff and excellent work. "
