"When they arrived the men that came to do the work did not know what they were going to do. I explained it and they said they had to do an estimate. I asked of what. They explained there were different charges for different work. I suggested I had already paid for four hours of labor. The young electrician told me it would cost me, I think he said he said a specific figure ($350- $400. At this point I felt that I was being held up, but I already had what I had pre-paid invested. I told them I would pay $200 to get the supplies they needed if that was acceptable I would pay it. If it was not OK they could leave. Thankfully they accepted my offer. The electrician worked hard and did a good job. My concern was that what I thought I had purchased was four hours of work and I was willing to buy the wire and boxes. I thought $200 was a bit much for the wire and two boxes. I was not willing to pay the estimated cost they wanted to charge. I felt the promotion was turning out to be a bait and switch. I wonder if I had been elderly if they would have negotiated? Better Communication up front would be much better. I apologized to the electrician doing the work for getting a little short, I expected to pay for the two boxes and wire but I thought the original estimate for the work was a bit high considering I had already paid for four hours. I didn't get my TV mounting frame installed, but at least my two overhead lights were installed."
