"I hired this company the first week of January with an anticipated day of service being Jan 14. Due to weather and temperature the work did not get done until March 14, and when I hired them there was no warning that this could happen. I paid up front and when they came out the workers were nice, but they only did about 2/3rd the agreed upon job and said they needed to bring a lift out to get the higher branches because they thought their ladders were tall enough but they were wrong. So the job was incomplete and despite saying they would email me a quote to bring a lift out I've heard nothing since. So I paid for a job, only got the easiest 2/3rd part of it done, and heard nothing since. I genuinely regret hiring this company."

"Raschke Concrete and Construction was hired to pour 2 concrete slabs and 2 transition pieces at our business (The Sandstone Retreat) totaling 14 yards on concrete for the price of $10,000. The owner Gabriel Raschke assured me that it would be no problem and that he could start next but he required half the money to get started. We told him that my wife and I got him name off of Angi's list but since we didn't know him we were only willing to give him 2,500 now and when he was finished with the forms we would give him a check for $5,000 to pay for the 14 yards of concrete. The concrete was supposed to be poured on Friday February 28th, 2025 so I took a personal day to supervise the job. Gabriel Raschke came Friday morning and informed me that the concrete will not be there until Monday March 3rd, 2025. I was not happy about this but if it had to be pushed back then it gets pushed back but I told him that I would not be on site that day. I instructed a good friend that was doing some work at the Sandstone Retreat that day to keep an eye on them and let me know how the concrete progress was going. The 1st concrete truck showed up around 12:45 on Monday March 3, 2025 and Raschke Concrete and Excavation started the concrete slab. I called my friend and was asking how the concrete was going. He informed me that they started so I said send me some pictures. He sent me some pictures and had some concerns about how it looked but I figured that it would be fine. My friend sent me more pictures about 20 minutes later and confirmed my concerns. I called my friend at the Sandstone and asked what was going on and he told me that it's not good. I sent Gabriel Raschke a text at 3:16 PM and asked what was going on but didn't get a response back from him until 6:37 PM saying that he is going to call the concrete company because they put to much calcium in the concrete and it set up to quickly. Gabriel called me and told me the whole story and said that there was too much Calcium in the concrete and he could get the job done because it set up to quickly. I told him that was not my problem and asked him how they are going to fix it. He said that he will put a skim coat of mortar on it and it would look good. I told him that won't fix the problem and that I want it all chipped out and removed."

"If you use everdry, don't expect good service after the sale. They won't accept service calls directly and when leaving call back messages, they don't call back. They will blame it on computer problems or any excuse to not call back. Very dissatisfied with their service as I did in fact use them."

They were respectful of my home and made sure to minimize any disruption to my daily routine. Throughout the process, communication was excellent. "I’m only giving a one star review because they were able to get us on the schedule quickly. Everett seemed very friendly and honest when he came out to give us a quote to widen our driveway and extend our extension patio so we decided to hire Hastings and Sons. Now with HUGE regret. This is a slimy business. Partial payment was due at the beginning of the job and the remaining was due at the completion of the job. We went ahead and paid the remaining payment without the job being FULLY completed (ignorant on my part) the only thing left to do was saw cut and clean up, we were told someone would back the following morning, here we are 4 days later and no one has showed up to complete the job. Everette and someone named Tim who wasn’t even on the job and told me two jobs were mixed up told me it would be taken care of (yesterday). If concrete is left too long without the control joints being cut it will crack, we are past 96 hours with no saw cuts! Not to mention I told the project manager I wanted our patio to be rounded and it was not, he did a walk through the morning of pouring and talked about the square footage but nothing was staked out so I didn’t even think to bring it up again since I already told him and showed him a picture of what I wanted, he said I should have mentioned that during the walk through. This part I was okay with getting over until it turned into a bigger problem. They left my front yard a mess, there is concrete smeared on our existing patio, concrete on the siding of our house, basement windows, the quality of their work is bad. Sloppy, the extension of the driveway isn’t even. If I could do it all over again I would have hire the contractor who’s price was significantly higher. I would not recommend Hastings and Sons to anyone and will never use them again for future projects. Do yourself a favor and don’t go for the cheapest quote, I know better and still did it. I should have been more thorough when researching the company, their reviews are loads of complaints and they are not on the BBB that’s usually a red flag. Lesson learned, you get what you pay for! Good thing is I was able to stop payment on the second check. They’ll get paid when they actually FINISH the job."
