"I hired Baumann's Lawn and Landscape to fix my front lawn. The soil was mostly clay and sand and covered in weeds. They killed and removed all the vegetation, tilled the soil, brought in new topsoil, conditioned/fertilized, and then laid sod. The crew was fast, efficient, polite, and did an amazing job (hopefully this site allows me to upload photos after writing this). The work was done in 3 separate days and took less than 2 weeks from the initial phone call to the finished installation. "I used a large lawn maintenance company for several years. I changed because they literally ran while weed whacking around the yard. Twice, not once, but twice a worker weed whacked a flower bed even though edging stones were visible. Just Aeration is a small company, which does its work with care and pride. I have used them for several years now, and I would recommend them. I planted clover in my front yard because the space is shady, and Just Aeration is careful not to apply weed killer there. He proposed a very robust solution that provided protection for our home and provided a really nice look for naturally correcting the problem. "I always had water problems in my yard. There are a very few companies that specialize in drainage work. I had Andrew the owner of Classic Drainage come out. He is very conscientious and very pleasant. He tries to make the most economical choices for you. He is very flexible. I had a lot of problems with my yard. So, I had to keep having them come out and he really did respond. It is not like he does a job and then takes off. He is going to be coming back in the spring. He is not inexpensive in my books. He can afford to be pricey because there are not so many people who do this, but he is a little less expensive than another company. The initial job of attaching the downspouts to the pipes that ran underground and to trench those to the storm drain cost me $2500. So, I thought that it was a little pricey for doing that, but he did a good job. I was trying to get one of the pipes that had to do with the sump pump at the front of the house. However it didn?t work because there was too much water going to another pump and was causing ice in the street. So that?s when we called our plumber back to redirect it to the back of the house to the storm drain. So it ended up costing me more money. It was a very small job when he came out to redirect the sump pump and he charged me $225 for the outside job. He basically had to put a fitting on the pipe to connect it to the pipe on the ground with the downspouts. So $225 is his minimum for a small job and he said it is going to be $2500 for a day?s work. He actually didn?t raise the price when the one day job became a two day job because it rained. He did the job during the winter when it was really dry and it hasn?t been a while. I have to see exactly what happens to my yard once it rains. He is going to come out to do a little more work like getting rid of some bushes and grinding up the stumps for me. He was punctual. He is out on every job. It is a small family business and he has two helpers. He is very professional and tells you exactly what he is going to do. If there are any problems, he is very good about coming back to correct it. So, I think that is very important in that kind of work. I would use his services again."

"I am very pleased.  German was on time and very courteous.  He began by setting the sprinkler system to run so that he could inspect all of the heads, and we walked around the yard together.  We discussed which heads should be adjusted and how, and he patiently made the adjustments while I said "a little more this way, a little more that way..."  German also replaced a broken sprinkler head for no additional charge.
I had purchased a "Big Deal" for the sprinkler system tune-up, because we've owned our house for 3 years and never had the system looked at. It was just the push I needed to tend to my sprinkler. Well worth the $39 I paid. German advised me about proper maintenance of the system, and I was surprised that the winterization was so cheap ($75 for regular customers, $65 for Angie's List members). I already have it on my calendar to call them in the fall.
German and I also discussed which sprinkler heads are poorly located and should be relocated.  Each of the recommended relocations is obvious, because the landscaping has grown up since the original installation.  I absolutely did not feel like he was trying to sell me services I didn't need. I will definitely be calling to schedule the additional work.
The time window they gave me for servicing District customers was also ideal (between 7 am and 8:30 am).
