"Arrived on schedule. Went through the elimination process and determined problem was in the line to the pump or the pump itself (no water pressure). The service rep explained everything so that I understood fully what was going to happen. The pipe to the well motor was pulled up and a nickel sized hole was found in the pipe about 10 feet from the pump. The pipeline was galvanized metal and was very rusty. More holes were sure to develop; so, I had the whole line replaced. We also found the pump was 30 plus years old so, I had that replaced too. The service rep kept me informed through the entire installation process; as well as what to do after everything was completed. The pump had to be flushed with chlorine so, there is a short waiting process, tap flushing proceedure and water testing that he explained before leaving."

"The inspection turned into a new furnace and air conditioner. I decided to take advantage of their special of $1000 off if you replace both. Mine were old enough so that I decided to replace rather than repair. Technicians were very pleasant, knowledgeable, and professional."

"Bruce C Our well pump was having pressure problems, so we called Wells to check it out. After a thorough inspection, the bad news was that the pump was wearing out. It was 14 years old and servicing three families, so with Wisconsin winters and below zero temperatures, plus Christmas approaching, we knew it was time. Wells provided a detailed estimate for the new pump and recommended parts that should be replaced. We scheduled the service, though we had to wait about a week due to heavy snow and sub-zero temperatures. The weather finally warmed above zero the morning they arrived at 7 AM to start the work. Mike explained everything he was going to do before getting started. He was very knowledgeable and patient, answering all of my questions clearly. The crew worked all day, and we had water flowing again by 2 PM. Highly recommend Wells."

"Sunday afternoon we came home to water in the basement and a found a pencil-sized leak at our well pressure tank float valve. We called several well service providers and plumbers who serviced well tanks, too, but only got two call backs. One well tank servicer said it would be at least $300 for the service call alone. Dean from the Pump Connection returned our call, but said it would be cheaper if he came out during regular hours. He explained what he thought might be happening, and told us what to do to stop the leak overnite. He said he'd be out after his first call Monday morning. <br /> Dean came by on Monday morning, was prompt and very helpful. He explained how the system works and that a part failure in our well pressure tank float valve made it so the pressure tank float remained open. So, when the tank recharged, it released water instead of air into our basement! Dean replaced the part and things are up and running great! We will definitely call The Pump Connection if we have any other needs for service regarding our well system. <br /> I cannot recommend The Pump Connection more highly! Plus, Dean's a veteran and a very nice guy! Thanks, Dean!!! <br />"

"Chris explained the process. We appreciate that he suggested the best option and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. Scott did a great job with the install. He was on time and out in less time than was allowed. He cleaned up everything. The new system works great. We paid more, but the Kinetico system was the best reviewed in our research."

"It was very quick since they came in, told us what was wrong and they left. It was fine and we didn?t have any issues with them. It was something that they felt that they didn?t need to fix. We could try and fix it ourselves. They told us that the part in our sink could be replaced if we went to another store and they didn?t have it in their stock to replace it. It was very simple and their fee was like $80. They came when they said they would come and they were probably here for less than 2 minutes. My overall experience with them was fine. I would consider using their services again."

"We met with the estimator/salesman Kevin who inspected the entire area, performed measurements and then reviewed the cost proposal in detail with us. He was very knowledgeable and thorough, explaining the process in layman's terms so we had a good understanding of what was needed and why. It was nice to get an idea of the cost right away instead of waiting days/weeks for an estimate. We secured estimates from other contractors and we decided on Tri-State due to the overall cost, professionalism and good reviews/references. Tri-State was able to schedule the job within a couple weeks. They provided us great preparation information so our basement would be ready for them to begin the work without delay. The crew worked over a two day period, keeping dust/mess to a minimum. All team members were professional and worked hard during the process. Clean up of the basement, staircase and outside area was excellent and additional instructions were given to us upon their departure. We have had several good rains since install and have had no water/wetness in the basement. Will edit the review accordingly to let members know how the system worked after a year or so."

"This was an emergency call.  The hot water handle on the bathtub faucet broke off and the water started shooting out of the open hole.  The main water valve was so old and corroded that it could not be turned off.  I called Prairie Plumbing and they pulled a plumber off another job and he was at my house in about 30 minutes.  The water flow was stopped and he left to get what he needed to fix the faucet.  He returned, fixed the faucet and replaced the old main water valve.  From start to finish, it took about two hours, including the time to go get supplies.  I was very happy and thankful for their quick service and for such a reasonable price for and emergency call. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Columbus, WI

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
