"Chase from Excel Renovation was great to work with regarding our residential garage roof leak. He was very personable and there was excellent/ professional communication in talking through the potential issue and then scheduling a time to meet. Chase ended up starting with a simpler repair approach first, re-fastening and re-sealing a roof flashing, which we agreed was the right thing to do for our type of roof leak (very small leak) and for this cold time of year (late Nov). He was very honest in what he thought was the likely issue and digging deeper right away in our case, instead of just resealing and testing first, may cause more harm than good. He would not take any money for the repair…I tried though. :-) He said to keep an eye on it during the upcoming rain and snow melt(s) and he could always dig deeper if needed in the spring, removing interior sheetrock and then applying water with a hose over suspected area on the roof. "We had been planning on getting our 1989 home re-sided for several years.  The front exterior and the side of the garage was cedar.  The rest of the home was masonite.  Both of those type of sidings were cracking and crumbling.    Initially, we were considering a top of the line insulated vinyl siding from Certainteed.  We put off getting siding for a few years because it was going to be a costly remodeling project and we wanted to do it right the first time.  We never liked the contemporary look of our house and knew that when we replaced the siding, we were going to update the front for curb appeal as well. 

TCSP had re-sided several homes in our neighborhood, including the homes on BOTH sides of our house and another one across the street.  So for a couple of years, we were able to view their workmanship and the James Hardie siding product on a daily basis.  My husband and I really did like the clean look of the JH hardiplanks.   We decided on the James Hardie siding vs. top of the line vinyl even though it was going to be more expensive but knew that in the long run, it would outlast the vinyl and look better.   

Terry Stamman, owner, came to our house and spent over an hour discussing our needs and educating us on the James Hardie products.  Terry said he would come back with various options and cost.  We met with Terry again and he had 3 options ranging from good, better, best and the corresponding total cost of each.  We had a budget and didn?t want to really go past that so we told Terry the things we really needed and what we could forego (ie. cultured stone 1/3 up the garage stalls, not replacing all the soffits, etc).   He did suggest that all our soffits and most of the fascia were in good condition and just needed to be painted vs. being replaced so we could stay within our budget. 
 
John Lilja at TCSP was awesome because he, along with Terry?s initial idea, designed our existing unattractive solid wood column with a more decorative fluted column made from James Hardie trim and Fypon products.  This was a lot less than the PVC Fypon fluted column that we initially wanted.   I also worked with John in designing my front entry door with Fypon fluted columns and a crown header as well as dentil mouldings around the top of the partially covered entryway.    I had John revised the CAD drawing several times until I was happy with the size of the crown header on the door.  My husband agreed that the final column designed by TCSP looked so much better than the more expensive PVC pre-fabricated column!   

Terry suggested replacing our plain soffit on our 2 story partially covered entryway with a pine beadboard for curb appeal.  We also had TCSP design 3 curved headers over our garage doors to take away the contemporary look of the house.  Terry suggested placing a trim piece on the curved header to polish it off.  That turned out really nice!  

Nate, job supervisor, came and took the final measurements and we went over exactly what products were going where as well as the final colors.  We opted for the JH Colorplus hardieplanks in khaki brown and hardietrim in sailcloth because it didn?t require any painting since the colors were already baked into the siding.  

Andy Hieb and his crew at TCSP installed the siding, garage door header, and the beadboard soffit.  All of them were extremely nice to deal with.  Andy was very approachable and was always smiling!  They came at 7 am and left by 5 pm and always cleaned up before they left each day.  Those guys really did work very hard without taking many breaks. There were 3 days it rained and they couldn?t work on the house.  But, they were still able to finish the job in the 2 weeks estimate they gave us.   

 There was a separate carpenter from TCSP, Curt, who came and constructed our front entry fluted pillar/column and the decorative mouldings and crown header around our door.   My husband and I were very impressed at the finished product!  Our house (especially the front) turned out better than I had anticipated. We had the JH shingles (shakes) just on the front exterior (the rest had the 7 inch hardieplanks) as well as Boulder Creek stone around our large front window.  Love the sailcloth color trim with the Khaki Brown color siding.  

After the siding, boulder creek stone, and decorative mouldings were installed, the gutter guy (can't remember his name) came to installed the gutters which already had the James Hardie sailcloth trim color pre-painted at the factory!  He said they order the gutters pre-painted with the exact James Hardie trim colors!  I was impressed how the gutters just blended in with the rest of the trim on the house.

Brent and his crew came and painted all the soffits, fascia, filled in all the nail holes on the column and all other decorative mouldings and then painted a 2nd coat on.  They took over a day just to prep with plastic, taping, etc. to ensure that no paint would get on our windows, new siding, etc.  I was impressed they took so much care in prepping just to paint the soffits, fascia, front entry and garage mouldings!

We have had numerous neighbors complimenting on the new exterior.  Another neighbor said we have the prettiest house in the neighborhood now!  Friends and family that have stopped by to visit have also complimented how beautiful the house looks.  Thanks TCSP for making that all happen!"
