"Ideal experience with this company! They contacted me and came out to make the bid the same day I contacted them. They were super flexible and worked to accommodate my schedule. I needed to wait until my EV charger arrived from the manufacturer. They came out the day after it arrived, installed the unit in under two hours, and it's been working flawlessly ever since. Don't let their name fool you--John's Waterproofing is expert at electrical work! I will use them again."

Customers say: Terrific value

"He did a decent job electrically, as far as I can tell, but the breaker panel door doesn't close properly and he pushed through the wall and popped out the drywall on the other side. Didn't even realize it until much later! I also had a couple other problems as well - mostly due to communication issues I guess. In the end I have mismatched switches, outlets, a 4" hole in an exterior wall, damaged drywall, recessed lighting of different types that aren't sealed like I requested. I could keep going but basically, when I asked about just a few of these things he gave me a hard time. He will make style decisions and assumptions without asking you! Look elsewhere"

"I have nothing but great things to say about Steven and his crew. Steven is the owner and he came to my house to provide the estimate. His price was by far the lowest of the 5 bids that I received, and he had only top of the line equipment to offer. I wanted to get my AC units installed before the summer rush and he was able to install the same week that I got the estimate. The crew consisted of 3 guys (Austin, Sergei, and Stefan). They were all super friendly and worked quickly! I had central A/C and a ductless mini split installed in about a day (half a day x 2 days). I very much appreciated that there was no nickel and dime b.s. that you often get with contractors. The price quoted was inclusive of all work *AND* Steven upgraded my ductless unit (to a much stronger one) for no additional charge *AND* gave me a new thermostat for FREE to replace my really old/cheap one. How amazing is that? I was in shock a little bit when he did those things but I am so grateful. Oh, and he also gave me a little bit longer of a labor warranty on my ductless because I mentioned that another company offered it. Anyway, this company (Steven) is awesome. He's just a good guy and I trust him. I 100% recommend his services and will go to him when any repairs (or a new furnace) are needed in the future."

FAQs for electrical wiring or panel upgrade projects in Corbett, OR

Yes, a licensed electrician is essential for this project. Running an electrical service from the road to your house involves connecting to utility power lines, complying with national and local electrical codes, and safely handling high-voltage systems.

Licensed professionals understand proper wire sizing, grounding requirements, and voltage drop calculations needed for safe installation. Most jurisdictions require permits and inspections that only certified professionals can obtain. The safety risks and potential for property damage make this project inappropriate for DIY attempts.

Overhead installations are less expensive than underground options. For a 1000-foot run, overhead service costs between $8,000 and $15,000, while underground service ranges from $10,000 to $25,000.

Overhead lines require less labor and fewer materials since they don't need trenching or conduit. However, underground lines offer better protection from weather events and aesthetic benefits. Your decision should balance your budget constraints with long-term reliability and visual preferences.

You might need to upgrade your electrical panel depending on your power requirements. If your existing panel cannot handle the additional load from the extended service, upgrading to a 200-amp service (costing $750 to $2,000) may be necessary.

A licensed electrician can evaluate your current system and determine if an upgrade is required. Factors include what you'll be powering at the end of the line, existing electrical demand, and whether voltage drop over the distance will affect performance.

Running electric service from the road to a house requires electrical permits from your local building department, costing between $500 and $2,000 depending on your location. You may also need excavation permits for trenching work if installing an underground service. Your utility company will have its own application process for connecting to its grid. A licensed electrical contractor can handle all the necessary permit applications as part of their service, ensuring your installation meets all local code requirements.
