"I am thoroughly impressed with EJ Roofing & More. The entire experience was wonderful. We needed a new roof on my Dads house. From beginning to end they were professional, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and had the lowest cost estimate. They cleaned up property when work was complete. It is a pleasure to have found a company with exceptional customer service. We are delighted with the new roof and I would absolutely recommend EJ Roofing & More to friends and family."

"My wife and I can't say enough about this contractor. From the initial inspection and estimate to the completion of work, Dan Thatcher and his crew were professional, polite, and considerate of us and our property. We were promised the best roof possible, and after seeing the application of seven layers of material, we're sure we got it. The work began and ended as scheduled, and the crew were hustling from the minute they arrived until the end of their day, except for a few brief minutes when they noticed our dog had worked its way out of the dog run and they came off the roof to retrieve the beast. The clean-up was thorough every day. The roof looks great. Like landscaping or any other kind of repair, if it looks good, it probably is good. We really appreciate this outfit going above and beyond for us and have invited the whole crew back for a well deserved thank you steak. We'll not think twice about having them do the recoat in about four years. John and Mary Ann DiLeonardo."

"This company is great to work with. The owner is responsive, extremely open for questions and updated me twice a day on job status. Crew was responsive to a small vibration issue from the compressor and very tidy. Work was initiated on time and completed a day early despite early summer heat. I will be asking them back when it is time to maintain the flat roof areas again. Royal was also low bid out of 8 bids, but the responsiveness of their owner was what made me choose them."

"My husband and I have used Brooksaire/Bill Brooks for several years for all of our servicing needs for our heating & air, as well as water heater maintenance. We are always happy with the service we receive from Brooksaire ~ he is always prompt and reasonable. The reason for my review, we recently had them install a new A/C unit and Bill did a lot of research to come up with the right unit for our house. He got us scheduled right away, because our old unit was beginning to have problems and he didn't want us to go without air in the Tucson summer heat. We LOVE our new A/C ~ thank you Bill Brooks for always being there for us!"

"Went perfectly. Work performed over 5 days; first 3 days redid roof (working in mornings to avoid afternoon rains); final 2 days for two coatings of elastomeric material. The supervisor, Pedro, knew his job, worked hard. Every crew member knew their job and did it under high temperature conditions.  <br /> They cleaned the worksite each day. <br /> When they were done, I had solar panels and a solar pool heater installed; the company returned afterwards to take care of dings made by pool heater installer. <br /> Cannot imagine what the company that bid twice as much would have done differently. I am most happy. <br />"

"This company was recommended by a cooler contractor who coordinated replacement of an evaporative cooler as well as some interior ductwork and drywall replacement. The roofers fit into this work seamlessly and completed their work in two days, on schedule and on budget. After they completed their work the cleanup was meticulously completed. <br /> The owner as well as the workers were easy to talk to and very polite. <br /> The work is warranted for five years and if the same roofer adds paint the warrant is extended five years. <br /> I will highly recommend this company. <br />"

"The job was bid and completed within about a 1 week - here is the time frame. 1. The roofing job was bid by Jim Viberg, the company president.. 2. Several days later, a crew of 5 was on-site removing and stacking tile and removing the underlayment. Next came a crew of 3 or 4 and installed new CDX where required and started installing a self adhering fiberglass underlayment, new batts and the roof tiles. 3. The final clean-up included going over the yard with a huge magnet to pick up any nails. We had rain a couple of weeks ago.................NO LEAKS. You can depend on this company and the price quoted was what we paid."

FAQs for roofing installation & roof repair projects in Cortaro, AZ

An average Cape Cod roof-raising project requires approximately two to three months from start to finish. The timeline depends on several variables, including weather conditions, contractor availability, material delivery schedules, and the specific complexity of your home's structure. The process involves multiple phases, including demolition, framing, roofing, window installation, and interior finishing. Working with an experienced contractor who provides a detailed timeline can help set realistic expectations for the project duration.

While most Cape Cod homes can accommodate roof-raising modifications, each house requires individual structural assessment. Older homes may need foundation reinforcement or wall strengthening before supporting additional weight. Factors like the existing roof framing system, load-bearing wall placement, and overall structural integrity all influence feasibility. A qualified structural engineer should evaluate your specific property before proceeding with design plans. Additionally, local zoning ordinances may restrict maximum building height or architectural modifications in certain neighborhoods.

Temporary relocation is highly recommended during a Cape Cod roof raising project. The construction process involves removing portions of your existing roof, exposing interior spaces to potential weather damage, and creating significant noise and dust. Most homeowners find temporary accommodations for the two to three-month construction period, with relocation costs ranging from $2,000 to $6,000, depending on your housing choices. If staying with family or friends isn't possible, budget for short-term rental or extended-stay hotel expenses as part of your overall project cost.

Consider roof raising when you experience severely limited headroom throughout the second floor, find yourself constantly stooping under sloped ceilings, or have minimal usable floor space due to low ceiling heights. Other indicators include inadequate natural light, poor ventilation, and difficulty accommodating standard furniture in upstairs rooms. Simple renovations can improve an attic's appearance, but cannot create additional headroom without structural modifications. A complete roof-raising project makes more sense than cosmetic renovations if you're seeking genuine second-floor living space rather than just storage improvements.

Begin your search by seeking contractors with specific experience in Cape Cod structural modifications and dormer additions. Request detailed portfolios showing similar completed projects and ask for references from previous clients with comparable work. Verify that potential contractors hold appropriate licenses and insurance coverage and understand local building codes relevant to roof raising. Interview multiple candidates, comparing price quotes and their communication style, project approach, and proposed timeline. The ideal contractor should demonstrate a thorough understanding of Cape Cod architectural characteristics and structural requirements.
