It got away from her and ran up a tree, which is when she discovered the second baby raccoon. I love raccoons, but I can't have the dog and baby raccoons sharing the same backyard, so I called in Jay, at the recommendation of St. Francis Wildlife Rescue. Jay was calm, professional, and very knowledgeable about critters. He and his assistant kept expressing great concern for the baby raccoon -- they did not want to hurt him getting him out of the tree. This is why I didn't just call an exterminator. I didn't want the raccoon dead, just not in my yard. Eventually, they got the baby out of the tree without harm and will take him to St. Francis for rehabbing and then it will be rehomed in the forest somewhere, where it belongs. The second baby we were not as fortunate with, so Jay set some traps and checks back on the traps every other day or so. I was delighted with these guys, their care and consideration for the critters, their knowledge about animals, and the friendly professionalism both guys showed. Because there's a lot of urban critters in this town, I suspect I will be calling Black Thumb a lot in the future. I recommend you do too. <br />"
