"It went perfectly. I called and spoke to the office immediately. They came out the next day on a Sunday prepared to give an estimate and complete the job. Everything is done. They performed quality work with quality products, very professional, clean-cut, honest, efficient, fair price. We are very happy and highly recommend them."

"Dealing with Sean Meyer was a pleasure. He was both responsive and professional in all of our interactions. The job proceeded very well from its inception and conformed to all relevant building codes. The workmanship was excellent, including the necessary carpentry, masonry, painting, roofing, and installation of the new fireplace. I also liked that the job was carried out continuously from start to finish, and was finished well before the target date. The initial estimate was reasonably accurate... only about 15% lower than the final cost."

"We had three issues with our home and decided to call Adelaine Construction for a bid. <br /> <br /> 1. The fireplace box began by being damp and then eventually water formed a puddle, and later during horizontal rain storms, a gallon or so of water poured into the firebox and elsewhere. Over a 9 month period we had a chimney sweep, a contractor, a fireplace installer, and a few "experts" with ladders inspect and theorize what the issue(s) were. We finally called Adelaine Construction-they fixed it considerably under budget and for less than $75.00. The fireplace has been dry ever since--even during the most intense summer rains. <br /> <br /> 2. Where the attached garage roof line meets the rest of the house there has been a problem with rain and, in particular, snow/ice buildup since we built our home. The cement board on the house wall under the garage roof began to show signs of water damage after three years. We had the cement board painted once and it looked good for one season and it returned to its pealing and shabby state. Adelaine Construction determined the cause of the damage and recommended replacing the damaged cement board siding, priming and painting the new siding, installing a commercial grade gutter with snow and ice melting cable, installing the necessary electrical service--complicated by the fact our circuit breaker box was full--and a handy lit on/off switch. It is amazing how nicely the downspout matches the house. <br /> <br /> 3. Our last project was the most long-term issue we have had with the house. Although it is too complicated to explain how the house was built and why the front paver stone porch leaked water into our basement, however, Adelaine Construction developed a plan to remedy the core cause of our periodic dripping ceiling in an unfinished room in the basement. We had previously invested $3000.00 to “fix” this leak with a former friend, who is a licensed general contractor; it did not work. Although there was never a lot of dripping after a rain, it was enough to not allow the room to be finished. Adelaine Construction urged us to fix this whether we finished the basement or not—we did. For less than what we spent on the first attempt, we now have a completely dry basement. <br /> <br /> The communication of the repair plan and estimates, the issues, and the timelines was excellent; we felt in the loop about every detail. The execution of each project and cleanup was very professional. When a subcontractor was needed, Adelaine had a representative/project manager here. <br /> <br /> All I can say how incredibly fair Adelaine Construction has been to us, and how confident we feel about the work they have done. When the need arises, we’ll be calling Adelaine."

"It went great! We got a few different quotes and Miller Building's was the best. They gave us an estimate of when to start, and even with a massive wind storm, the time was not delayed. They secured all the permits needed and had a dumpster delivered. It was all finished within one week. The roof and siding look great. It has been about 3 months and we've had no issues since."

"We drew up an idea of what we were thinking about and he took our idea and brought it to life.   We are so happy with it and so our our animals.  It's been a few years old now and it holding up just great and I am glad we agreed on a metal roof as he suggested and a gutter system. <br />"

"We own a vacation condo, so you need to be able to trust someone to work when you are gone and have things done when you want to use your place. This is what I always tell people about Brett: and quot;He isn't cheap, but you say, 'I'd like to put in a murphy bed, surrounded by bookcases' and in short order he has found one that turns out to be the most comfortable bed to sleep on and has everything completed. You call and say, and quot;I would like to move a light switch two feet to the left.and quot; and in three days, you have it done. He is nice to work with, efficient, and a good advisor. My mother-in-law was re-doing a few things on her cottage for two years, because the man she hired kept getting distracted. We told her to hire Brett, even tho he was more expensive, because then the job would be completed. Sure enough, in about two weeks he finished what the other company may never had completed. When you have a condo or cottage that you only use a few weeks of the year, you need someone you trust who will complete work not only well, but in a timely way so you only have happy days while you are in residence - not be frustrated. Brett is that kind of guy. He is worth the $$$. <br />"

"He is a good problem solver. If a problem came up, then he would sit down and figure out a solution. He is good at working with several people. He worked well with his crew and his subcontractors. He is very personable. His financial estimates were reasonable and close to what it cost. If the price was going to change, then he would let me know. He is really busy."

FAQs for sunroom or patio enclosure building service projects in Cross-village, MI

A sunroom is a fully enclosed space with walls of windows or glass. It allows you to enjoy the outdoors from the comfort of the indoors, protected from bugs and weather. It functions as an additional room in your home. A covered patio extends your home's roof over an outdoor area, providing shade and shelter while remaining open to the fresh air. It's a great way to enjoy outdoor living while being protected from sun and rain.

Adding screens to your porch is the most budget-friendly way to enclose it. Screening keeps out insects and debris while letting you enjoy the breeze and outdoor ambiance. It's less expensive than installing full walls or glass enclosures and doesn't usually require permits, making it an efficient way to upgrade your porch.

If you're transforming your porch into a fully enclosed living space like a sunroom, you'll likely need a sturdy foundation, such as a reinforced concrete slab, to support the structure. For a simple screened-in porch, you might be able to use the existing floor and support posts without additional foundation work. It's best to consult a professional to determine what's needed for your project.

An enclosed porch can be considered a living space if it's fully enclosed with solid walls and windows, has a proper roof, and includes heating and cooling systems. It should also have direct access from inside your home. When these criteria are met, the space becomes an extension of your home's livable area.
