Prior to my scheduled time, they reached out again, offering me an earlier appointment, which was ideal. The tech (Tyler) called shortly before arriving to confirm when he'd be there. He quickly identified the issue with a pinhole leak in the copper pipe, replaced the corroded section, and explained why it had happened (use of improper/cheap materials by a previous plumbing installer). Tyler also explained another issue that should be repaired in the near future on the hot water heater, which has galvanized pipe connected to copper, which apparently corrodes.
