(which would have required removing the freezer door and the entire white plastic freezer compartmen liner to access those parts).  Mr. Kenney's expert diagnosis pinpointed the problem to the main control board (where its defrost relay was not working) - and this was a far less costly repair. <br /> After this repair experience we bought a quality single-outlet UL 1449 Listed surge suppressor (840 joules, < 1 nanosecond response time, 330Vac clamping voltage, H-N, N-G, H-G protection) to hopefully prevent any potential damage to our refrigerator/freezer electronics or motor from power spikes and surges... (we've had a number of power interruptions over the 3 year period since our refrigerator was new and this may possibly have been the cause of an eventual failure of the main control board?); if the surge suppressor works it will be cheap insurance."

Wooten Appliance came in, provided a quote, including an assessment of whether it made more sense to repair or replace, which I felt was honest. My fridge was repaired and everything works great. I purchased the microwave from Wooten. It was more expensive than what I would have paid at Lowe’s, HD, or Best Buy, but I decided that a one stop shop was what I needed to keep things simple.
