"The WORST EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE DEALING WITH A CONTRACTOR. He spent the entire day, yesterday, harassing me by text after being told that he was not going to receive the job. It continued into the evening hours. He posted to Angie's List or another contractor to Angie's list that came to my phone that read "This guy is trying to get the lowest bid and he wants quality work , he's playing with you guys , don't fall in his game of lies." Sorry, I've already turned down the two lowest bids AND Ricky's bid is the 2nd Highest. Of course I want excellent work at the best price, don't you? Getting bids and making a decision is called doing your due diligence. Ricky has been very unprofessional and might have opened himself up to a libel suit for calling me a liar. I'll let the attorney decide if there is a case, there. Ricky even wanted to replace my roof that's 15 years of a 30 year life. It only needs cleaning. RUN FAR AND FAST FROM RICKY."

You can maintain regular sweeping and vacuuming to keep grit at bay. But if you see wax buildup, dents, or deep scratches, sanding is a must. Otherwise, the new coat will highlight every flaw.
Sweep or dust-mop every few days, then follow up with a slightly damp microfiber mop and a cleaner specifically designed for wood floors—avoid anything harsh that can strip the finish. For stubborn marks, rub lightly with fine steel wool and a bit of mineral spirits, then buff with wax. Adding blinds or curtains also shields boards from sun-fade and keeps the color even.
