"I will say up front that while I can usually follow installation instructions have very little patience for setting-up electronics. You can call your cable provider, but I found that they will propose to take the easiest route, like drilling thru the floor, instead of running thru the wall and making it look ecstatically pleasing. I contacted the business owner (Charlie) who promptly returned my call inquiring about my job to add a new smart TV in my living room. The job required that an additional cable line be installed. He set up an appointment to come by and access what would be needed. Since we were running the cable line from the basement, which has a drop ceiling, the ceiling tiles needed to be moved to allow access to the wall above. Additionally we discussed placement of the TV (mount to the wall or stand). Ultimately I choose to just place the TV on a stand. The cable line install and TV set-up went smoothly. Upon his arrival to run the cable, I also asked if he would also relocate and set-up a new internet router. No problem at all. He installed the router and called the internet provider tech support when it would not automatically provide the IP address. This is important for me because I frequently work from home so rely on being able to have a reliable connection. For the TV install, he set up the TV without any issues, but more importantly, took a few minutes to walk me thru TV menu since every TV is just a bit different. He also made sure my other smart TV was working, since I guess that sometimes adding a new set-top box causes your internet to be reconfigured and the other TV needed to be re-booted. If you want to get your electronics set-up quickly & and easily, I recommend working with HomeTronics."

Steve is very conscientious and spent a great deal of time explaining the new system. We had one component fail and Steve came out quickly and replaced it."

"We have had them for 20 years. We wanted to have a system where we can have the alarm system remotely in the bedroom so that we don’t have to go downstairs. They said that we had to sign the documents for $800 and I signed it and I later found out that I could get the same thing for a lot less. I told them that I was so angry that I should have taken an estimate from others before signing up for them and they said I was stuck with them for 3 years. I asked him why he would do something like that because I have been with them for 20 years and she showed me that it was mentioned on the back page. It wasn’t even on the front page. They told me that I would have to pay for the services whether I used it or not. I would had to give them 75% of the fee if I had to get rid of them and move to another service so I told them that it was a dubious way of getting money out and once this was up I was going to some other place. When it comes to workmanship they did a good job but when it comes to honesty they were not good. They were not up front with me. I was foolish and I don’t blame them for sticking me with a high price because the same thing is being offered by authorized dealers for nothing. I told them that and they said it was not the same quality. They charged me a lot and I swallowed that and I don’t blame them for that. They took me on a 3 year contract without me knowing about that and mentioning things in the back pages. They were not honest about that. They gave me a price and I took the price and the salesman fooled me about it. I held back their payment for almost a year as I didn’t want to pay and they threatened me with disconnection of services if I didn’t pay. The authorized dealers were giving it for free and they charged me $800. They told me that’s the way it is and that they have better equipment. They said another company also gives such offers. I have used them for 20 years and I didn’t think they would make me sign for another 3 years. I was so upset and frustrated. I tried to make it known to them more than once that it was not fair but that’s the way it is. I think the company who threatened me with disconnection is separate from those who installed it and they were eager to get paid. They called the headquarters and made them inform me that I would get disconnected. I am going to wait those three years and I would change my services to someone else. If something goes wrong they are supposed to come in and fix it. We pay extra for guarantee of work and the equipment. "

"This is an update to an update. I've had Simplisafe for about 4 1/2 years, and it wasn't working well for us. We had trouble getting the components to communicate. We had false alarms. The customer support was okay - I think they tried, but for whatever reason, the system just didn't work well in my home. Someone from Simplisafe offered to replace the system, and so far it seems to be working well. I'm curious to see if we have any problems with the motion sensors. I previously changed the sensitivity to "low" to make sure we didn't trigger false alarms, but for now, I'm leaving the new ones at the default setting. I greatly appreciate the customer service and them reaching out to me. After spending $500 on the components and countless hours fiddling with the system, I'm hopeful that it will work without much effort on my part now. Taking down the old system and setting up the new one took about 2 1/2 hours and was fairly easy."
