"Dawn and her son were on time and very pleasant. They removed the old dishwasher with no problem and installed the new unit. We did have a small leak that night under the sink that happened before with the old dishwasher. They didn't hesitate to come back the next morning and make the additional repairs for us. Both of them were very easy to deal with and we highly recommend their work ethic."

"I am amazed that I found a real live person that is helpful without material benefit. I called to request service on my Frigidaire Affinity (which I hate) and I was advised to unplug the washer and see if that resolve the matter. If it didn't, call him back. IT DID. I will certainly use this service when something goes wrong again, which I am sure it will. Thank you for your very excellent advice."

"I placed an order this morning for misc. work to be done. I was astonished how quickly I received a call. He came out immediately and took care of the most immediate work needed. He came ready to work instead of just giving a bid. I couldn't ask for a nicer or more professional Handyman. Thank you Home Advisor, I now have someone to call with all my misc. repairs... In fact we have set an appointment for more work to be done! Amazing... some of this work has been put off for years, I now can get it done right, fast and affordable."

"Shawn is very reliable. A real gentleman, and easy to communicate with. Shawn made every effort to make sure we were happy with the work performed and was very patient with some last minute design changes. Shawn was always looking to save us money on big items like windows and doors. Shawn is very versatile and demonstrated skill from new framing and structural work, to tiling and everything in between. We highly recommend him for renovations big, like ours, or small ."

FAQs for appliance (microwave oven) installation and replacement projects in Dawsonville, GA

A pro can finish the job in one to three hours. Countertop models are the quickest, but built-in, drawer, and over-the-range units take longer because the installer may need to run a new outlet, modify cabinets, or add venting. Any add-ons can push the timeline closer to the three-hour mark. Hiring a licensed installer ensures the wiring is safe and the appliance operates at peak performance.

Because an over-the-range microwave doubles as a range hood, it needs proper venting. You can opt for a recirculating model that filters and recirculates air back into the kitchen, or a ducted unit that exhausts outdoors. Are you unsure which route suits your cooking style? Ask your installer for guidance before making a purchase.

Only microwaves labeled “over-the-range” have the built-in venting and lighting that’s necessary for safe, code-compliant use above a stove. Countertop models don’t have those safeguards. Before you swipe your card, have a licensed microwave installer confirm you’re choosing the right unit for the space and ensure compliance with local codes.

It’s best not to install a countertop microwave in your cabinets. Countertop models aren’t designed for use in an enclosed cabinet, and blocking those vents can trap moisture or even create a fire hazard. A built-in or drawer microwave is designed for tight spaces. Run your plans by an installer to make sure you’re buying the right style for the spot.

You don’t need an electrician if the outlet already meets the microwave’s power needs and sits in the right spot. In that case, you’re good to go ahead with the installation. If the outlet is undersized, outdated, or too far away, hire a licensed electrician to install a new one and ensure everything is code-compliant.

With routine care, most microwaves last between five and 10 years. To help them reach their maximum lifespan, wipe up spills immediately, wash the grease filter periodically, avoid using metal dishware, and close the door gently. Those simple habits reduce malfunctions and keep the appliance running smoothly for the long haul.
