"Radon mitigation. Had 100+ radon reading and Ramone came out and installed a mitigation system with three ducts to reduce the radon level. Good quality at a fair price. Highly recommend!"

"I asked Georgia Radon Solutions Company for help to reduce the radon in my basement, which had a reading of 8. Mitchell Stein contacted me 2 hours before arrival. Upon arrival, he inspected the basement and explained how the work would be done and addressed my concern about how the duct would connect to the outside. He also gave me a reasonable price quote. He then noticed that I had an Aprilaire Energy Recovery Ventilator installed in my basement. I told him that the ventilator is not working and needs needs to be fixed. He suggested that I fix the ventilator and get it running, which may then solve my radon issue. I took the suggestion and fixed the ventilator, and now my basement has a radon reading of 2. I greatly appreciate Mitchell's professionalism and honesty. He was willing to put aside business profits to look out for a customer's needs, which is hard to find nowadays."

"We used Elite for radon testing and it was positive and we put in radon system. We also used them when we purchased a new home to inspect and to test for radon. Radon was in normal range in new home. I don't remember exact prices for each test but was fair as was installation of radon system. Very thorough job and extremely professional."

"AT Inspect was very thorough and efficient while completing our home inspection. They went over everything and explained what areas they found that needed addressing, making sure that we understood the details and recommendations to correct any items in need of repairs. I would recommend them to anyone in need of a home inspection."

"We spoke with Terry and he actually answered most of the questions over the phone (for free). We could have stopped there but just to be sure asked them to come over and do the test. They got the results back to us quicker than expected and they were exactly what they anticipated. He provided excellent advice on how to deal with the problem. Note that Heaton environmental only performs testing, which allows them to provide unbiased advice. Terry was a real pleasure to work with and I would definitely use his services again."

"The owner-operator of this company is a very nice and personable man. However, the actual home inspection was very poor. There was very, very little communication. During home inspections, an inspector should be letting you know what they are finding, seeing, etc. The only comments I received were that everything looked great and just before they left, he told me that the heater didn't come on. I expected to see only the heater on the inspection report, but instead found tons of things in the report in a format that was definitely the worst I've seen out the five home inspections I've had for homes I've purchased.
I honestly wish I had not hired them as I felt I would have had an easier time with the inspection repair addendum had I understood the report better. They were also the highest priced inspection company, which I paid thinking I would be receiving a higher level of inspection from this former 'contractor' owner. I was very mistaken.
Regarding the report itself, it is extremely basic. The picture descriptions lacked any detail and the 'stock' checklist under them were not detailed and actually difficult to match up to the pictures. They told me nothing about the appliances or estimated life expectancy of them, which most other inspectors will do.
I definitely would not use them or refer anyone I know to use them. They are extremely nice people and I wish they would go to a better report format as well as communicate during the actual inspection. I kept hunting him down and all I was told is that things were looking 'great.'
The assistant with him was a very young woman...maybe a daughter? She was young and I did feel this was very unprofessional to bring an assistant. I've never had an inspector bring someone with them, let alone have them looking at things in the home while they aren't around."

"We used Jeremy for the second time, on another pre-1978 house we were purchasing. He did an excellent job. Scheduling was easy. He was thorough and pleasant to work with, and the written report was very detailed. The testing gives you so much peace of mind. It's well worth the money."

FAQs for radon gas abatement projects in Dawsonville, GA

The only way to know whether your home or water supply contains radon is to schedule a professional test. A qualified radon inspector will collect samples, deliver lab-verified results, and explain the findings for $150 to $800. Once you know your exact levels, you and your radon mitigation pro can choose the right system and tackle the problem before it affects your family’s health.

Both roles tackle radon, but they focus on different steps. Inspectors test your home, interpret the results, and determine whether levels exceed EPA guidelines. Mitigation pros design and install the system that lowers those levels. Some companies do both, but the skills and equipment differ, so always verify that the person you hire is properly certified for the specific service you need.

Installing a mitigation unit fixes radon problems by reducing indoor gas levels to established safe standards. A system designed and installed by a mitigation expert, tailored to your home's specific layout and foundation, guarantees effective radon reduction. This expert installation ensures consistent performance over time while safeguarding your indoor air quality.

Open windows and doors do not reduce radon levels because they trigger a pressure imbalance that draws radon-laden air into your home. This practice fails to control radon concentration and can even worsen the issue. An active suction mitigation system provides a proven, safe, and effective solution to reliably reduce radon levels.

Radon mitigation systems generally last between 10 and 30 years, depending on system type and maintenance. Passive systems endure the longest because they have no moving parts, whereas active systems, which use a fan, require fan replacement every 5 to 10 years. System components, such as PVC pipes, seals, and fittings, can remain effective for decades when paired with periodic inspections and proper maintenance.

Radon mitigation systems consume between 300 and 3,000 kWh of electricity per year, depending on fan size and system design. On average, an active radon fan draws 100 to 300 watts continuously, which translates to roughly 876 kWh annually, and adds $30 to $300 to your energy bill each year. Choosing a high-efficiency fan and ensuring tight sealing around pipes helps minimize these ongoing costs.
