"Our old 1919 house needed more than a simple face lift. We got a couple of estimates, and Modern Exteriors came in several thousand dollars lower. Scott seemed knowledgeable and easy to work with, so we hired them. Our old house was leaky, so the sandblasting created lots of dust inside the house despite their best efforts to seal it. The only other hang up was the discovery of rotten studs underneath the old stucco. Scott connected us with carpenters who were able to expedite the repair, and we're happy with the finished exterior."

"It went well, with a few caveats. Brennan was very responsive when providing the estimate and was very willing to be flexible on schedule. (We also had carpet replaced and wanted to have the painting done immediately after the carpet so we wouldn't have to disassemble the house twice.) Another reason we went with Brennan is that he included furniture moving in his bid, while keeping his price competitive (it wasn't the lowest we got, but it was reasonable). Some other bids required me to remove all furniture from the rooms to be painted, which is completely impractical in a house as small as mine, so I was happy to pay for the convenience. Brennan originally told us it would be a couple of days of work, but by the end of the 2nd day, we didn't have even a single room completely painted. When I complained, Brennan came out and spent the entire 3rd day with his crew and they were able to finish everything up that day. The quality of the painting is generally good, and we're happy for the most part, but there were definitely signs in a few places that they were rushing to finish by the end of the 3rd day. My interpretation of what happened is that the crew was slacking a bit. There wouldn't have been so much rushing if they had been a little more organized in the way they approached their work. I appreciate that Brennan stepped in to make things right, but wish that he hadn't need to do that in the first place. We would hire them again, but I would keep a closer watch on the schedule."

"If your stucco home was built around 1990, and fails a stucco inspection with several points of high moisture readings, you fear the repair work can easily cost $60 K and much more because the damage is likely hidden. I had several contractors look at the job and nobody could/would handle the job to take care of the window, repair frame work and re-stucco and match existing stucco. Matt Roach of Barrier Construction quoted the project with the promise that his staff would do all the work and only need to deal with one company and satisfy the inspection findings. From the first day Barrier's crew started the job, my wife and I knew right then we had hired the best company. The crew was so professional in every way, soon felt almost almost like family, and were truly craftsmen in their job skills. Barrier turned what could have been a nightmare into a solution that was more than fair from a cost standpoint to an absolute gem of a finished project. We can not say again how great the crews were and Barrier staff support."

"Dennis is great.  When I called him to get the work done, he was very busy, but he worked with my schedule to find a time to squeeze me into his. 
There was a lot of work, all of it in frankly unrewarding small pieces.  This is the kind of work we all have around our house, needing to get done, but not every painter that you call in is willing to do it.  Dennis is extremely patient and willing to add extras on to the original project when you belatedly discover that there is more to be done.  I discovered some damage to my exterior paint work the day before Dennis and his crew came over--they hadn't brought a tall enough ladder with them, but were great about the extra trip that had to be made to get it.
The bottom line--Dennis (and his crew) are extremely professional and great people to work with.  I've worked with Dennis on various parts of my home for the past six years: ceilings (and ceiling repair), the complete exterior, rooms, sills, trim and walls.  Every time he has been out, he makes it easy for me.  The job is always done right, if issues occur he fixes them, and his clean-up is meticulous.

"We hired Twin Cities Stucco and Plaster earlier in the year to refinish our home and give it a face lift. Other contractors quoted a really high cost while Twin Cities Stucco was way more competitive on price and gave WAY more information about the process. I would say if you need a contractor that is open and honest while still does good work, hire these guys."

"Phillepe did a superp job at cutting out a small wall in condo and fixing floor to match. A+. Great on communicating. Great pricing. The job was a rather large one, I personally in hind sight do not recommend spraying paint for condos in winter due to ventilation. But after a few weeks when the air cleared, I am appreciative of the nice clean lines they did on painting. They re sprayed ceiling too to get it whiter. All the spray was a bit much for me, air wise, and although I was not fully moved in at the time, it took a little time for it to settle. I personally would request hand painting next time around, as over spray can float or get it's mist settling on wood or in air more than expected, as long as adequate ventilation is available. But I am doing my review now, several months later, because I appreciate how my condo looks (the job) so much. Lines good, and job over all worth it. Phillepe wanted me to be happy and is very friendly. Overall, I am glad he helped paint it, and as mentioned lines are very clean, and the wall cut out and floor match job done well."
