"This pro provided useful information via a virtual (online) video consultation. Since this service does not send technicians to the home, they did not do the actual work. I am considering whether to order parts and try to complete the repair myself or under their virtual direction."

"Ice developed on the floor of my refrigerator's freezer indicating that the drain might be plugged.  Ron Jordan took apart the freezer (it's a Whirlpool with a drawer door, two baskets, and an ice maker) to check behind the back panel and discovered that additional ice had accumulated.  He carefully defrosted and removed all the ice, reassembled the freezer, and cleaned up as he went.  He then moved the refrigerator away from the wall to check the drain plug.  As he thought, the drain plug was clogged because the slit allowed for water passage was so narrow that it clogged easily.  He opened up the passage so the water could drain more easily, vacuumed out the water in the tray, wiped up the area and moved the unit back in place.  He also reattached the handle of the freezer which had been pulled off accidently several months ago. <br /> Ron is very pleasant and knowledgable about appliances.  His company responded promptly to my message and Ron came out the next morning.   The freezer is happy again and so am I! <br />"

"Very well. The repairman checked the washer thoroughly, and determined that we didnt need to replace the motor at this time. We really appreciated his honesty and professionalism. Will definitely call them the next time we need any household appliance repairs."

"One week after the birth of our firstborn, our stacked washer/dryer quit working. The guys at Appliance City provided a quotation for diagnostics and repair and also for a refurbished used unit. It made the most financial sense for us to just purchase the refurbished unit. The guys took me into the shop and showed me the parts they replace and how they test the used units. Their installation was great. And they hauled away our used unit. I will absolutely give Appliance City a call in the future when our condo needs a replacement."

"Delivery was on time, they were careful moving the appliances in the house and did a great job installing and hooking up appliances. One of the installers ( not sure, but I think his name was Manuel ) went through a lot of extra trouble and work to get old dishwasher removed and new one installed, as the previous home owner had put new wood flooring in the kitchen up to the dishwasher, which meant the flooring was build up in front, preventing the old one from coming out easily or the new one to fit in. Husband finally had to remove 2 wood planks so there be just barely enough room heigth wise to get the job done. It was not easy!"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Dayton, OR

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
