"It went great. Tim was able to quickly identify what was happening and by running a snake down the pipe he was able to determine where the end was. Luckily it wasn't under my concrete pad, but it was left 4 feet from the edge of the street with a cap on it. He quickly dug down to the pipe, dug a trench to the street access, and fitted a new section of pipe so it would drain correctly. I would highly recommend his work, and I will be using again for future plumbing needs. <br />"

"Minor leak under toilet to sewer pipe, pipe was old and had a split. Derek replaced the pipe and checked for any leaks, there were none. We really liked this guy and his assistant. They were early, very curteous and easy to work with. We would highly recommend them and would not hesitate to use them again for any plumbing issues. Wish we could give them A+'s. Thanks guys, great job! <br />"

"The estimating process was done by Ben, who was very personable and professionally knowledgable. He made recommendations that helped us get more done with the budget we had. Following Ben's visit there was a site inspection for measurements and a date set for installation. The date set was confirmed by their delightful office staff, and a friendly crew of five completed the job in one day. We appreciated them not trampling plants outside the windows, the perfect caulking job, and how carefully they cleaned up after themselves after a long day's work. We are already saving for the next batch of windows and will most definitely call Affordable Home Remodeling again."

"As a realtor, I recommend Ranieri Plumbing to all of my clients needing plumbing help, as they do great work and are communicative and easy to work with. This project for my home involved installing a branch line from our gas meter, running it through our basement, back out the backside of our foundation and through a trench (that I dug to save $) for a natural gas firepit, as part of a full backyard renovation project. This involved several visits, and they were always quick to respond and make things right. I would highly recommend Ranieri Plumbing for a job like this, as well as any other plumbing project."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in Dayton, OR

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
