"We needed grout repair done on a shower floor. Jake explained how he would make the repair, the types of materials he would use and about how long it would take. Luckily he had an immediate opening and was able to schedule our job within a few days. He showed up on time and completed his work in the same day. His workmanship was excellent, and you cannot tell there was ever a problem. I definitely will use him for any future tile work."

"Hardwood floor installation and refinishing. Lucas was very responsive and understood what we were trying to achieve. He worked hard to fit us into a schedule even as our construction schedule is changing. We had hardwood installed in three rooms and existing floor sanded and stained to match. We are very pleased with the result and will recommend!"

"The service went great. I had a concept for the design in mind when he arrived. He took the concept and made it viable at the on-site visit (considering space, water flows, costs, etc). Then we met at his store to review potential materials. He also discussed the potential to remodel the kitchen and provided that concept - very well thought out. I would recommend this company. While I have not yet activated this project, the designs were excellent.

"Very well. They are craftsmen. Put up plastic barriers to keep down the dust in the rest of the house. They did a wonderful job. Our new bath looks beautiful. His designer helped me turn my ideas into real world structures. The materials they used and the workmanship of their installation is first class. They are a little more expensive than some but they can do all the things you want them to and do them correctly. We are very pleased with their work.

FAQs for tile: ceramic and porcelain repair projects in Dearborn, MO

People use the terms refinishing, resurfacing, and reglazing interchangeably. Refinishing is a process that repairs old tiles and gives them a fresh new coat of finish. This is also called tile resurfacing or reglazing.

Yes, you can refinish tiles as a DIY project, but it’s important to follow all the steps involved. These include the following:

  1. Clean the tiles or hire a local tile cleaning service to remove all the residue (soap film, oil, grease, and dirt).

  2. Etch the tile to ensure the refinishing solution adheres properly.

  3. Fill in any cracks or chips in the tile.

  4. Recoat the grout.

  5. Repair any missing or damaged caulking where applicable.

  6. Apply the refinishing product, primer, and enamel.

Your newly reglazed tile should last between 10 and 15 years with proper installation. However, higher-traffic areas and moisture may result in a reduced life span. Explore the cost of different tile types to determine which material works best for your home and needs.

Your bathtub and tile refinishing cost will likely seem like a small price to pay for the transformation it offers. Provided your tile and grout are both intact, refinishing will bring a brand-new style at a fraction of the cost.

Yes, most ceramic tile is paintable with specific epoxy or tile paints. However, you’ll want to avoid areas of heavy use or moisture, such as countertops, showers, and bathtubs. Paint can crack, bubble, or wear away over time, especially on floors.
