"Mr. Dimmett (Lee) came to my house promptly and gave me an estimate. My roof was over 20 years old, plus it had the original layer underneath. I also had a gable over my garage door which had perpetually peeling paint, and I wanted it covered in vinyl siding. Lee explained in detail what he would do, and what materials he would use. He said it would be about a month and a half before he could do the job. He explained that he is very busy at this time of year, and that he uses a small crew. He left me sample books for both the shingles and the siding. His price seemed reasonable, and was substantially less than one of the "big" companies which also gave me an estimate.
Right at 45 days or so, Lee and his crew started the job. It took several days. Lee addressed several details, such as painting a rusted kitchen vent, and installing a boot on the electrical service entrance which was only caulked previously. He told me my decking was in great condition, but he installed extra protection in critical areas anyway. He removed the stair-step flashing around the chimney and replaced it with a straight piece, which looks much better. He removed a power attic vent and installed ridge venting. He installed 35-year GAF Timberline HD shingles. The weather turned very cold and we got some snow as he was finishing the roof. He came back at the first opportunity and covered the gable with siding. He suggested a fake gable vent to dress up the gable, and threw that in for free.
My house looks a lot better than it did before. The dimensional shingles look great, as does the siding and vent on the gable. Plus I'll never have to paint the gable again. Lee and his crew were very friendly and knowledgeable. They did a very thorough cleanup. I mowed the yard afterward and did not find any nails or debris.
I am a bit concerned that some of the shingles are not lying flat. Lee assures me they will seal down when the weather gets warmer. Also, there is a smudge/scrape on the new white siding. Lee said he would come by and take care of that, but he hasn't yet.
I highly recommend Mr. Dimmett. He seems to be an honest, down-to-earth individual who takes pride in his work and does an outstanding job. I trust him and his crew. I plan to hire him again soon to replace a window.

"Our technician, Dameyan Jackson, called the night before the day of service to let me know the time that he would be here to service our system. On Friday, he called to let me know that he was available to come earlier than scheduled, if I would like. He arrived shortly after the phone call, came in and quickly recognized that the pump had failed. He was very knowledgeable and professional. I was very pleased with his service and look forward to him returning to install a new pump."

"They have been out for the electrical. They have been out for the pool. They have been out for the sump pump. Its the fee for the service call. We have used them for the last 3 years. If you have an appliance that you think needs replaced they will not replace it they will repair it to death. They are very responsive. Some of the people they send out are great, some are okay."

FAQs for sump pump or interior foundation drains installation projects in Decker, IN

Most residential pumps draw approximately 1,300 to 2,900 watts when they first start, then settle at roughly 800 to 1,050 watts during normal operation. The exact number depends on the motor’s horsepower and how often the float switch tells the pump to run. Even at the high end, the electricity cost is minor compared with the expense of cleaning up a flooded basement.

Grab a ruler and an empty 18‑inch‑wide pit. During a steady rain, time how much the water rises in one minute. Multiply that depth (in inches) by 60 to calculate gallons per hour, then add 50% for safety. If the result tops 2,100 gallons per hour—about 35 gallons a minute—you’ll need a 3/4‑horsepower unit. Anything lower, and a 1/3- or 1/2-horsepower pump should do the trick.

Loud rattling, constant cycling, or shuddering vibrations are the pump’s way of telling you it’s on its last legs. Musty smells, higher electric bills, and visible rust are other red flags. If the unit is 10 years old or older and exhibits any of these symptoms, replace it before the next heavy rain turns your basement into a wading pool.

You don’t have to hire a licensed plumber, but you should still bring in someone who installs sump pumps for a living—whether that’s a plumber, basement‑waterproofing specialist, or experienced handyman. They know the local codes, can wire the pump safely, and will test the system before they leave. Skipping professional help might void the warranty and could leave you with a pump that fails when you need it most.

Not every basement needs a pump, but if your home sits in a floodplain, has a high water table, or has ever taken on water during a storm, a sump pump is inexpensive insurance. For basements that only struggle with condensation or the occasional damp spot, sealing cracks and improving drainage may be all that is needed.
