"I first called another roofer who never came inside to look at the stains or went up on the roof. That roofer said by visual inspection he could tell I did not need a new roof and his company only dealt with replacements. But, he hazarded a guess at what was wrong and said if anyone actually went up on the roof, it would cost around $800. I then called Farina who scheduled an estimate; they arrived on schedule. The gentleman came inside and took pictures of the stains. I received an estimate about a week later and was asked to agree to it or not by email. I agreed and about another week passed and they showed up at my house to do the work, again going inside first to look at where the stains were. Assuming that the leak is fixed, the only thing that could have been better was if I was told beforehand when they would do the work, instead of their just showing up. Luckily, I was home."

After the bad storms this winter, I noticed a small corner of trim had actually come off exposing the sheathing underneath. Fearing water damage, I called Connell Roofing who had put a new roof on our home 12 years ago (that looks as good as new), and did more modest trim replacement 6 years ago. Dennis and John were out the next day, reviewed all the trim around the house that had some damage, gave an estimate, and said they could start in only a week. While our house has sturdy cedar board siding, the trim boards are soft pine, and there were multiple areas of sunken wood consistent with rot underneath.
