Small jobs welcome

"It went great. He came to give an estimate but said he could fix it immediately. He went and got the part and fixed the door. He then tightened up the hinges and tightened the handle on another door that was giving me problems. He definately went the extra mile or two. Very friendly. Will definately recommend and hire him again."

"Our home has a patio in the back that faces due Southeast and we overlook a large chunk of Open Space. During a recent visit by my daughter, we were sitting out there one morning when it was quite sunny. She said "Dad...you need an awning!" So I started searching. SunSetters.com is a large (if not the largest) online awning supplier. I then searched through Home Advisor and the #1 hit was King Awnings. Based in Denver, CO and Santa Ana, CA. I made a call to the number listed and left a message. I received an almost immediate response from Mr. Ron Huntley who is the Owner and President of King Awnings. We talked at length and agreed to meet the next day at my home. I had done my homework on SunSetters and I believe they have a good product, but the drawback was finding an installer who would do the install for a reasonable price. Ron arrived at the appointed time on September 29, 2020. After about one hour with Ron, I signed a contract for what is similar to the SunSetter top of the line Platinum model. Two things superior with King Awnings. Warranty and free installation. SunSetter offers a 10-year warranty, but King is 15 years. Both use the Sunbrella fabric which is the highest rated...period! I said two things. How about three? The price with King was about $500 less than SunSetter and it included installation. I received install quotes from $750 all the way to $2500. So I saved well over $1000+ in the end. Ron's crew (Cody & Ryan) arrived on October 22, 2020 and started the install which took four hours (just as they said). Perfect & clean install. One of the options that was added was a drop down valance, which I was going to get with SunSetter anyway. Cody & Ryan came back today (October 23) to install a heavier rod in the drop down valance, which will hold it in place better than the one that came with it (that was a Home Depot purchase) that they made and they do that for all of those drop down valances. After watching Cody & Ryan during the install, I don't know who would possess the knowledge and skills needed for a self-install. I live in a community just south of Denver. If you are looking for an awning, you won't go wrong with King Awnings."

"Hays Outdoor Living was a pleasure to work with. They performed our job quickly and ensured it was done right, which required extra time and effort to attach the gazebo to our concrete slab so it wouldn't blow away in our very windy climate. We also felt the price Hays charged was fair and would recommend them to others."

"Tom with J & R Interior Services remodeled 3 of our bathrooms and we could not be more pleased with the entire experience. Tom was affordable, reliable, prompt, hard working, professional, and did quality work. I was especially impressed with the beautiful tile work he did in the showers. He performed the work efficiently and completely. I would highly recommend J & R Interior Services especially for your bathroom projects!"

"There are positives to using All Universal. Their bidding process was detailed, easy to understand, and they met their budget, often a rarity these days. We had decided to go with them because they had their own crew, which presumably made for easier project management; and they completed the job in the time estimated. The employees, for the most part, are polite and professional. If you need a small to mid-sized project done, they are going to do a solid job for you. On the other hand, our kitchen was a large, custom job; and this presented a steep learning curve for them. The installer lacked some critical attention to detail, had trouble understanding some of the plans, and did the appliance wall incorrectly instead of checking with the designer, even though the designer had graciously helped him earlier with the kitchen island. New parts had to be ordered and the wall redone. Some of the crew and subcontractors were also not up to the tasks, resulting in several follow-on visits. All Universal struggled with the project management side and required regular follow up: they did not keep any kind of punch list that we could see; we had to repeatedly tell them what needed to be done every step of the way. They did not confirm scheduled work with us or in several cases, with their own crew and subcontractors. We ended up with a beautiful kitchen, but it took much more time and effort on our part than it should have. Would we work with them again on another project? The answer is yes probably -- now that we know better how to work with them, and if they have learned from this project as well."

"Jeff came our to do an estimate within an hour of my call. He scheduled to do the work within 4 days. He came out when he said he would, and did a great job. It was a small job, and many contractor's would not have even wanted to do it, but he cleared the area well before putting in new fence pickets with screws instead of nails in order for them to stay in better. I would hire him again...also gave me some good tips on our landscape!"

FAQs for fabric awning or patio cover service projects in Denver, CO

With routine care, your fabric awning should serve you for five to 15 years. Durable acrylic and vinyl covers hold their color longer because they block UV rays and can be rolled up during storms. Wash the fabric twice a year, brush off debris after windy days, and patch small tears right away. Those simple steps help the cover shed water, resist mold, and keep its good looks season after season.

Yes—converting a fabric awning to metal involves swapping the soft cover for lightweight aluminum or steel panels and beefing up the frame to carry the added weight. Because the job calls for precise measurements and structural reinforcement, it’s best to hire an experienced awning contractor. An awning installation pro will confirm the mounts meet local codes and make sure the finished awning stands up to wind, rain, and years of sun.
