"Their was a slight hiccup in the pricing and after my check was cashed, Tom the owner called me saying he wanted to cancel the order and give me my 1/3 deposit back of $1,800.  I was devastated because I already had a previous door installed improperly and that had failed in less then one year. This was extremely traumatic after several weeks and a cashed check to hear that the owner wanted to cancel my order.  To make a long story short he thought about it....he called me back and decided to move forward with the order. The installation went flawlessly.  Very professional crew, love my new door.  Comes with excellent warranty.  My advice stay as far away from fiberglass as you can!!! Way too much flex in the door.  I did steel door  with wood grain look painted black at the factory.. Just remember "the cheap becomes expensive". Steel is the only and best way to go and slightly less expensive then fiberglass.  The most important aspect of door and window replacement for that matter is the installation! The people that install for Hammer and Nail only work for them. Even if I could find cheaper its not worth it. Installation is and should be your number one concern.  If you want reliability, honesty and integrity you must choose HAMMER and NAIL.

"The All Eco Team functions ever so smoothly to produce results that are exceptional.

Just thinking about remodeling a kitchen and bath can be both exciting and worrisome:  you want great results, but feel wary of hiring a contractor who may not deliver them.  Once I chose All Eco as my contractor, my concerns about process and product slowly evaporated.  You initially meet with Dave Taghipour, the contractor to describe the scope of work.  He then brings his designer to your site to begin to formulate a plan.  You next meet with the design team in their wonderful showroom on University Ave. in Wheaton.  (I have lived in the area for a long time, had seen the storefront, but had no idea that so many wonderful products and such a highly skilled and professional team was within its doors.)  You can choose from their vast array of products:  flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, etc., or you can purchase them elsewhere for the All Eco Team to install.  I purchased everything from the showroom:  why run around looking for something better when they offer multiple variations of everything you need to meet your budget requirements right there?  And, oh, such beautiful choices.

Then they get to work.  And they STAY at work, not leaving your job until it is finished.  Their craftsmen are experts at what they do.

If you want real value for the dollars you'll spend, I can't recommend a better contractor. "

"Everything was done very well; removal of old sunroom materials, installation of new wall and roof over additional roof area. All wood work was very well done, installation of new glass and new structural roof! All done well. Exception was the new roof! Here the interfacing of new roof with existing roof was not done well. All the construction was completed at end - literally in last week of 2015; all seemed well for first winter of 2016, then in spring of 2016 the roof began leaking at or near the interface of new with the existing roof. I called Mr. Bart Scesney, the Senior Design Consultant , overseeing the project and reported the leak. He promised a fix. Then through the summer of 2016 the leak seemed to resolve itself but with return of winter the roof leaked through the winter of 2016 -2017. I called Mr. Scesney again and again received a promise of a repair; nothing happened. Again in winter of 2017-2018 leaks occurred, again I called with the same null response. Finally in the fall of 2018 I sent an email to Mr. Scesney with a copy to the President of TRS, Mr. Joe Henley. Again a promise of a repair but no response. Thus, this complaint to Angie's list and the same to the Better Business Bureau. Next will be a formal legal proceeding to sue the company for the cost of an urgent repair. Really hate to take this action because all other aspects of the work was so well done. But I must stop the leak; I have a cathedral ceiling and as a result a leak comes directly into my home."

"While it is fortunate that nobody was hurt, it is true that an overnight burglary to this property resulted in a shattered custom-made double pane patio door leading from the family room to the patio outside. This was an extremely upsetting experience to the homeowner, and since it happened during the holidays, and on one particular day when the temperatures were expected to drop about 40 degrees with wind gusts of up to 50 mph expected later in the evening, it felt especially hopeless. I went immediately to Angie's List and found Fat Guy with a Hammer. His receptionist took my call at about 11:30 that morning and he was booked until after the holidays, but on hearing the circumstances she called him at his job site and he agreed to come the same day to secure the house until a new door could be ordered. He did, indeed, arrive the same day and worked until 7 pm that night along with his apprentice, even though he was planning to leave town for Christmas that weekend. He was compassionate and very sympathetic to our situation. I just can't put into words how he saved the day for us all. I will never forget him and will use him for whatever future carpentry and construction needs I may have. The quality of his work was excellent as was his attention to providing a safe and secure situation all around. A true  Christmas Miracle. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!"

"Our original contractor dropped off of the Facebook of the Earth, leaving us with mostly finished renovation and the new deck I started. I found 5thGen on Thumbtack and Christian was the most responsive and knowledgeable of the respondents to my search for fencing contractors. His team built me a gorgeous fenced-in urban oasis and the double lattice was his idea and custome made for our space. I’m attaching photos. He and his team then proceeded to repair our previous contractor’s errors (like installing new kitchen cabinets upside-down... really!) and did amaze my custome drywall work and mounding work. They even moved our challenger and you would never know the base had been relocated looking at the ceiling. Great great job, reliable and responsive on multiple projects for us since. Our relationship with 5thGen started at the end of 2015 and continues to date."

FAQs for fabric awning or patio cover service projects in Washington, DC

With routine care, your fabric awning should serve you for five to 15 years. Durable acrylic and vinyl covers hold their color longer because they block UV rays and can be rolled up during storms. Wash the fabric twice a year, brush off debris after windy days, and patch small tears right away. Those simple steps help the cover shed water, resist mold, and keep its good looks season after season.

Yes—converting a fabric awning to metal involves swapping the soft cover for lightweight aluminum or steel panels and beefing up the frame to carry the added weight. Because the job calls for precise measurements and structural reinforcement, it’s best to hire an experienced awning contractor. An awning installation pro will confirm the mounts meet local codes and make sure the finished awning stands up to wind, rain, and years of sun.
