"Mike Moniz was not daunted when my project became a larger than expected challenge. What was expected to take 3 days turned out to be 9 due to the conditions found under the tile of our patio. To finally reach the original concrete, 5 inches of surprising "junk" had to be removed. Rotted posts holding up the roof had to be replaced. Ultimately, the new covering of the patio turned out fine. He went on to clean and seal the stone pool deck. Impediments in the old stone were corrected and the sealing took place. Not only do I praise Mike's work, even more I must compliment his personality, patience and perseverance."

"Finished project was exactly what I wanted; all individuals were respectful, patient, hardworking and left the premises in great condition. Jesus was very patient and helpful in discussing the color combinations for stones and grout, showing me a sample before doing the staining. The sealing product has a heavy smell and if project is done inside as mine was, have good ventilation and/or take a couple days vacation. "First the Design Phase. Tony Godsey, the owner of Texas Outdoor Escapes did a wonderful job of helping us finalize the design of a large backyard project that included the following: extensive concrete work in a backyard that was far from flat with some complex slopes; the design of a composite elevated deck with stairs; and the design of a covered patio with a custom fireplace. Tony has great people skills and will work with any customer to ensure complete satisfaction of the design before construction is started. He is open to make reasonable changes to the design during construction as some changes on a large project are almost inevitable as a design on paper is just that, and must be experienced first hand in three dimensions to see if everything has just the right perspective in dimensions/ size, etc. Next the Construction Phase. The concrete work was done first. We were impressed with the amount of rebar and steel used as part of the concrete work which included a foundation for a swim spa that when filled with water weighed over eight tons and had to be very level and the foundation for the fireplace under the covered patio weighing at least six tons. The decorative stamped concrete was expertly accomplished and the resulting work looks terrific. Tony and his crew also constructed the following: an elevated composite deck (fully skirted) using hidden fasteners on the deck surface; a 100 percent stained cedar pergola over the deck, and a stained cedar covered patio and custom fireplace. All his work was of superior quality. I would highly recommend that Texas Outdoor Escapes be consulted for a very reasonable bid before starting any outdoor project. "Roberto did a great job on the overlay and a fair job on the staining. The sealer used does nothing to repel stains from leaves, grass, dirt, water or anything else that lands on it. Roberto suggested using a mixture of Dawn dishwashing liquid and water and to scrub with a brush on the stain. However, this was completely ineffective on most stains. Also, there is a permanent circular mark from something that was set on the concrete while the sealer was being applied. After paying $4000 + for this job, you would expect the sealer to repel stains and to not have a permanent circle on the concrete. Very disappointing. As an added note, Roberto suggested buying a rug to cover up mistakes which occurred during the staining process."
