"When I called, David the owner, answered and immediately scheduled a visit. He texted me twice that he was on his way. Luckily I have two water meters, so I had been able to shut off the water supply to my irrigation, so that I was not wasting water in the meantime. I, myself, had installed piping, 21 heads, and drips to my backyard---so I had considerable knowledge but this problem was beyond my limited expertise. David has a "PhD" in irrigation mechanics and installs commercial and residential systems. Upon arrival, he immediately located my hidden underground valve box that contained the problem he had diagnosed. He replaced the faulty valve and tested each zone to see if they functioned. I told him I would like all my valves replaced since they were 17 yrs old, and he had told me the average life expectancy of a valve is 8 yrs. He did not have enough valves with him to replace all of them at that time. He did tell me that I might have a problem with the remaining valves since I had replaced only one this time. Sure enough, after he left I ran the system and now zone 3 refused to shut off via the controller. I texted him the problem. The next morning he sent his crew out to replace two more hidden underground valves. The system is now working flawlessly. The prices charged were VERY reasonable and the whole experience was such a pleasure compared to that of several contractors I had employed over the past 17 yrs."

Amazing thing is they didn't even charge us. We'll be having them back in the spring for a full estimate to get the system working correctly. "The representative, a landscape architect, did an extremely poor job of communicating, and supervising the job as he said he would, At the end of the job, Gibbs charged us for almost $1000 of work they never did and since the finished project was apparently never inspected, they did not know this until I pointed it out. They also failed to properly remove the existing vegetation so weeds and grass grew back in the beds withing 6 weeks. Our representative in addition to failing to communicate and supervise the project, I am convinced flatly lied to us on several occasions. He claimed to have been on site, but I am retired was home the days Gibbs was here and I never saw him. I asked for a quote on at least two occasions, on maintaining the new plants and he never passed this along to the company as he said he would, hence I never got a call back. (He could have just told met hey were not interested in a maintenance contact in the first place.) Worst of all, I contacted him when the weeds and grass began to take over the new plants, and he promised to have his crew leader visit the property. I confirmed that he never did this, and in utter frustration I contacted Mr. Peter Copses by registered mail. To his credit, he called me back immediately after receiving the letter and after about a 45 minute conversation, he agreed to essentially re-do the whole project. He sent a crew to to remove all the new plants and then remove all the pre-existing vegetation as specified in the original contract, put chemicals down to destroy the roots, then after a suitable time frame, reinstalled the plants. The final result looks great. <br /> Mr. Copses proved to be a man of honesty and integrity and I appreciate very much his doing the right thing. However, I would probably not do business with Gibbs again. Despite the fact that they have an outstanding reputation for quality work, the work in my case was quite expensive and generally rushed and poor the first time. Witness the fact that they redid the project without hesitation. However, I would never deal with the representative that set it up, since I consider him to be of poor character and lacking integrity. <br /> <br /> <br />"
