"Chris with Friesen Family Renovations, LLC was very professional and thorough in the work he has completed. He installed a new screen door, replaced my tub stem and faucet, repaired my subfloor in the kitchen and installed brand new LVP flooring to replace old and water damaged flooring. He also mounted a television for me, and did some drywall repairs as well. I would recommend this business to anyone looking for quality and dependable work!"

"Within a couple of minutes of requesting an estimate, Eric phoned to set up an appointment that day. During the estimate, Eric was very thorough and was climbing around in my crawlspace. The estimate was very competitive. Eric and Blake showed up on time and completed the job within the 5 hour time frame they gave us. They were very easy to work with and we have total confidence in the job they did. As a follow up, the inspector for the buyers of our house requested that the outdoor wire have a conduit put on it. Even though is was not needed in any way, as the wire was graded for outdoor use, Eric came out and put it on free of charge. If you need a radon mitigation system, hire Radon Fix! It's not a super exciting, fun thing to have done to your home, but you will feel good about the job that they do for you."

"The service was excellent! They arrived to pick up the vehicle a day earlier which was great. They delivered the vehicle right to my daughter's door and found a side street to unload. The service was delivered within the time frame given. All of my questions were answered via phone or email and the paperwork was seamless and the price was very reasonable."

"I was concerned about having Seamless or anyone doing the foundation repair as the damage had existed for many years and involved the main support. The project manager invited us to meet at another home currently having a similar repair to assure us that the team was capable of completing the repairs.
All in all, we have been very pleased with the work done. John, the project manager went out of his way to ensure my mother would be comfortable as each phase of the job was completed. Each phase of the contract was well supervised and the quality of the work was very good.
We had a problem with the plumbing a couple of months after the repairs were completed. Seamless came out that evening after 7:00 P.M. to correct the problem.
We highly recommend Seamless Restoration.
"

"I chose this company because they'd done a neighbors' concrete and they were pleased with the experience and the sealant that was used doesn't change the appearance like most do.
When I first contacted them they were booked ahead with big jobs. They could get to me by mid-June, but would fit my job in earlier if possible. They did, several weeks earlier.
They cleaned my driveway, personal walk and patio, public sidewalk, and curb. Special care was given to the highly dirty/mildewed areas. I pointed out some decorative border stones and a repaired area that would be fragile and he took care to not damage those (or anything else).
They discussed whether the water-based or solvent-based sealant would be better given the age of my concrete (and the tendency to mildew). The solvent-based was used with special attention to those areas prone to mildew.
They kept me well-informed re: what was being done and what I can expect going forward.
I'm LOVING the clean look and also seeing water just bead up on top!!
I didn't give an 'A' re: price, but it may have been competitive re: what I had done and the products/tools used. I hadn't gotten any other prices since I knew I wanted them to do it."

"Project chronology:

4/30/12 Signed contract, made 30% down payment.
6/20/12 No word; called them, they said ?waiting for permits?
7/2/12 Demolition of old solarium began
7/6/12 Demolition completed
7/9/12 Prepped foundation for new concrete pad pour (rebar holes drilled in existing footers, insulation laid down, reinforcing wire
installed)
7/10/12 Hydronic heating tubing installed (by owner)
7/13/12 Building inspector okayed pad for pour
7/19/12 Poured new concrete pad (in a downpour)
7/27/12 Ground pad with concrete grinder to remove soft
spots due to diluted concrete (at my insistence)
8/6/12 Started sunroom installation
8/10/12 Completed mechanical work
8/21/12 Electrical work completed
8/25/12 Corrected improper width measurement
8/29/12 Fixed leaks in roof

Comments on demo and concrete pad installation:
Great Day Improvements (GDI) did not grout in the rebar that was used to tie the old footer to the new pad. I had to do that myself.
The old footer surface was left covered with gravel, which would have prevented a good bond with the new concrete. I had to insist they clean it off before the pour.
Great Day used cheaper EPS foam insulation in floor instead of higher quality, denser XPS foam.
Poured concrete while raining despite bldg inspector?s comment ?rain predicted?; foreman?s response at the time was ?only need a 5
hour window?. They missed their window in the middle of a drought. Afraid the surface will not hold up. Stopped concrete pour when rain started. Had to wait so long, sent the mixer/truck home and later that day they had to go out and buy/hand mix 2-3 bags of concrete mix to finish the pour.
Even after cautioning their equipment operator not to drive heavy equipment over a buried water line, they did it anyway. Dug it up to verify no damage done, buy why not avoid the hassle?
I did part of the demolition myself for fear they would damage my bifold door framing (interfaces sunroom with house).

Comments on sunroom construction:
At end of 2nd day (8/7), noted lots of vinyl and aluminum ?sawdust? on the ground in my back yard, which is where my 3 dogs go
to play. Asked them what they would do about it and they said they would shop vac it up at the end of the project. When it rained on the next two days, that was their excuse not to clean up the small debris, which sort of makes you think twice about walking barefoot in your back yard. So far the dogs are okay?
Sunroom was built approximately ¾? wider (3/8? at each end) than it should have been, forcing GDI to install spacers and lots of caulk to correct their error. It looks okay and so far, it seems to be holding up but over a minimum 10 year lifespan I have my doubts.
Leak appeared in roof at first rainstorm following completion. GDI came out and fixed it in a timely manner ? again, using lots of caulk.
Since onset of winter and snow, have noticed effects of poorly insulated ceiling and walls with poor thermal breaks: ice dams in the sunroom gutter, and condensation on my new hardwood floor. See attached photos.

GDI came out and installed insulation in the spaces between the windows this past spring (2013). The guys doing the work admitted this should have been done during the initial install.

One year later...
I installed a woodburning stove in the corner of the sunroom in August of 2013. The chimney exited through the eave of the room, not through the new enclosure roof, so if there were any leaks around it they would be my fault...I thought. (see photo)
Initially I did have some flashing leaks which I could see coming down the chimney from inside the room. I also had some leaks appear in the new enclosure ceiling that were not there before, but I attributed them to the flashing leaks. So I had a professional roofer from Dunrite Exteriors come out and redo the flashing and the leaks around the chimney stopped. However, the leaks in the ceiling persisted. I spent much of a day on the roof with a hose trying to get the ceiling leaks to appear by squirting water around the chimney, but could not. Finally I took heed to something my wife said: "The new chimney changed the rain runoff pattern on the sunroom roof and something that didn't leak before has now reared its ugly head", or words to that effect. Well, just below the chimney there's a splice in the sunroom flashing that goes up under the first (bottom) row of shingles. There's a screw there holding the two pieces down to the sunroom roof, with plenty of caulk on it to prevent leakage. But it looked to me like water could get to that screw under the flashing by entering from the side - so I removed it. Lo and behold, there was a second, uncaulked hole next to the screw I'd removed, hidden by the flashing. It looks like the installers put a screw there initially before the overlapping piece of flashing was installed, then realized they needed a screw to go through both pieces of overlapping flashing and removed the first screw without patching the hole! So water was entering the overlap in the flashing, going into the second open hole, then finding its way down to the new ceiling of the sunroom. I plan to caulk the extra hole tomorrow and expect it will solve the problem. Just another example of GDI's poor workmanship. See attached photos for details."

"We had used Fry to repair our old furnance in 2011 so had them quote replacing the furnace and AC. Their quote was very competitive. The crew was prompt and professional. Had the AC running on the first day and came back a second day to make final adjustments to the furnace. They cleaned up after removing the old equipment. Were very happy with their service!"

"Two men arrived on time. Marked the spot in the ceiling for the fixture to be mounted. Cut the hole at the spot and ran wires between the ceiling joists to the upper corner of the ceiling and wall, ( removed crown molding to cut a small hole to retrieve wires and feed down the wall to the switch box). From the basement below, an access to the switch box was created and a fish tape was used to pull circuit wire through the wall to the basement and the j-box.
A customer-provided rheostat type lighting wall switch was utilized and wired for the run. The circuit was completed in at the existing j-box.
I am very happy with the outcome of the project."
