They didn’t advise of this before the cleaning nor offered to clean it for an additional fee. Yes, I emailed asking why . Just that it wasn’t covered. Ripoff"

"We would not hire this company again. We hired them to inspect our fireplace. They gave us a quote of what was needed in order to use our fireplace safely. Everything in the fireplace was visible during their initial inspection. Before the work was done, I asked if we could use the fireplace safely once the work was complete. They confirmed that we could. After they did repairs, they said more work was needed to make the fireplace safe. The work they mentioned was all visible at the initial inspection. Essentially they sent us a low quote for part of the work in order to force us to pay for more work to use the fireplace. We’ve asked them to complete the work to make the fireplace safe as that is what we were told we would get with the initial quote, but they refuse. We’re out of a deposit now and still can’t use the fireplace. Be aware of a low quote with additional work required after. We don’t know a lot about fireplaces so we usually trust the information a company gives us, so do a lot of a research with what they send you."

"I couldn’t keep the pilot light on to flip the switch for the burner. So called Magic Broom and Blair scheduled me twice for an appointment because of a staff shortage (CoVid/pandemic), but Bryan & Dylan came out and was able to fix/clean my gas fireplace and fix the burner switch. Bryan had the magic touch with the pilot light. He was very thorough with cleaning and repairing. Dylan was most helpful assisting Bryan and determining the right switch at the house electrical panel. Everything was safely and professionally done. If I can’t get the pilot light started for next Winter, I will definitely call Magic Broom for service again."

"Our experience with Shiner was disappointing. We arranged for them to replace our roof and siding. The roof work went well. The siding work had major problems: -Shiner didn’t order enough siding, so the team left about 15% of our house with no siding in winter (see photo). It took them over two months to come back and complete the job. -One of the Shiner Construction workers put a nail through our HVAC line, leading to all of the Freon (roughly $4000) escaping; Shiner initially agreed to only credit us for the non-recommended cheapest repair option for our HVAC system; then the foreman called to say that his boss (the owner) thought the repair was too expensive and tried to credit us for less money than was required to even repair our system (all while we still had no heat for a week in winter). The repairs were also entirely our responsibility to arrange; no help from Shiner. -The construction team didn’t show up on five separate days that we were told by management that they would show up; no explanation was ever given. -The construction team didn’t clean up the yard, as we found nails in our yard for more than a week after they completed the first 85% of the siding; and then repeatedly didn’t show up when we asked them to clean the yard. We eventually had to buy an industrial magnet on Amazon and look for the nails ourselves."
