"We are very pleased with Classic Granite & Marble - professional from start to finish.  We were looking to replace our existing island countertop with a new granite countertop.  We visited the showrooms and warehouses of 5 granite businesses in the area and chose Classic Granite as they had a large selection of granite slabs and had very good reviews on Angie?s list.  We walked through the warehouse to see the slabs, all marked as to price grade.  Once we made our selection, we were shown three different slabs of that stone to choose from.  We were then able to specify which corner of that slab would be ours and then the stone was tagged for us. Rosa, our salesperson, worked with us to finalize the purchase, including an undermounted sink, and scheduled measurement and installation dates.  Eric arrived at our home just a week or so after that and made his measurements with lasers and a laptop.  A few days later we received an email with the cutout drawing and then a second email with a photo of the actual stone showing where it would be cut and where the sink cutout would be.  I really liked that as we wanted the sink in a particular spot on the granite to preserve some of the beautiful lines in the stone.  Once we approved the drawing, the stone was cut that day so installation could be done as scheduled the following week.  The two man installation team headed by Carlos was very professional and careful with our cabinets.  They covered the floor with protective sheets and worked carefully to remove the old granite countertop that had been glued in more places than they expected.  Once removed, they brought in the new countertop (beautiful!), placed it correctly and mounted the sink under the granite.  They cleaned the slab, sealed it and picked up all the protective coverings.    We were impressed with how careful they were, and there was not any damage to our cabinets or floors. <br /> We highly recommend Classic Granite & Marble.  They had a great selection, knowledgeable personnel, and delivered on time with a beautiful product.  We couldn?t be happier. <br />"

"Frank Brennan and his crew did an outstanding job tiling our patio--removing old tile, putting a state-of-the-art foundation under the tile, and extending the tile to flower beds. We had the patio tiled 4 years ago, when we moved to our Old Town Alexandria home. Yet the tiles they chose were not frost resistant and the concrete foundation they put under was not sufficiently water proof. The entire surface cracked and broke into pieces two years later. FBT's expertise and professionalism were unparalleled. They diagnosed the problem, explained their process and plan for remedying the problems; helped us select the right tiles and worked patiently and meticulously for over a week to make sure the underlying foundation was solid, study water drainage, take measurements to ensure precision in tile placement, etc. They even noticed rotten boards on the side of the house and replaced the two bottom boards with tiles, creating a smooth transition and clean look. The results are absolutely amazing. I also loved it that they managed the process from A to Z. For example, in addition to concrete, they used a layer of of DITRA under the tiles, specifically designed to allow the installation of ceramic and stone tile over any even and load-bearing substrate and increase water-proofing capabilities. Frank, the owner, was delightful to work with, highly professional and extremely responsive. We plan to work with FBT Tile & Marble in the near future and wholeheartedly recommend them."

"We searched for a number of countertop providers in the Manassas/Gainesville area, and settled on Discover for both price and the style of granite we liked. Discover worked with us to lay out the counters on the granite slab that we picked, and matched the backsplash to look continuous with the countertop. Their recommendation on where to split the countertop work well,and they threw in a polished cutting board from the extra granite. Installation went well except for damage to the linoleum floor when they moved the refrigerator. This was ok since we had planned to replace the floor anyway, and it made my wife happy to move up that replacement. <br />"

"We recently hired Fairfax Marble and Granite to replace our kitchen countertops, the top of a kitchen island, and a countertop in a small powder room. They also installed new sinks in the kitchen and powder room. The choices of stone and the prices were excellent, and the quality of the preparatory design work, measurements, installation (including plumbing), and service were outstanding. We did not replace our cabinets, however we did have new appliances. The team was very careful both with removing the old countertops and working around the new appliances, in a tight space. Mehmet and his entire team were flexible and helpful at every turn. The original sales person had left during the early stages of the process, but the team worked around the change without losing a beat. The attention to detail in laying out the counter pieces with us and in fitting everything together along the natural lines in the stone was great. This is the place to go. <br />"

"In the middle of some kitchen renovations, we learned that a sink that we had bought to replace the existing sink was too large for the hole in our granite countertop. This was only after the old sink had been pulled out so we were without a functioning kitchen sink. I called Blue Isle on the afternoon of August 5 and spoke to co-owner Tamara who promised to speak with Ike, the other co-owner, to see if they would be able to cut the countertop in place so that the new sink could be installed. Tamara called me back in less than 15 minutes and confirmed that they could do the job the following afternoon. On August 6, Ike came on time with a two man crew and went to work. He measured the new sink and the space where it would have to go and commenced cutting. Within an hour, the job was done, the sink was fitting properly into the countertop, and Ike and his crew had cleaned up the dust created by the cutting operation. Blue Isle's responsiveness and quality of work were both excellent. We would use them for other stone and tile work without question."

Hours later the local person called and said he was out of town and that Angie's list had mixed up the appointment time and date. I reminded him that his call center had confirmed the appointment by email and phone.</p> <p>After rescheduling for a later date the tech arrived and performed the service. "Of all the stone yards I visited in my quest, European Granite was the only one charging the same price for all the stone available.  Thus I was able to get exactly what I wanted even though I was very concerned about price.  Emre, the manager, is willing to negotiate on price.  All the staff were extremely easy to work with.  Everything was done as promised and on time.
