"A+ review for William and the KeyPrime team! About a year ago, we purchased a historic house that was in need of several major repairs. The roof was over 20 years old and had not been done properly before, which had caused the wood soffits, eves, and fascias to rot. Squirrels and bats had started getting in through the rotted wood, and the gutters were falling off the house. We interviewed a lot of companies and received numerous bids. It was a complex project, and we wanted it done well + affordably (a difficult combination to achieve). We also needed all the work to conform to the historic register requirements and be approved by the historic preservation committee. When William came out and discussed the project, we were immediately impressed. He demonstrated a deep understanding of the intricacies that the project would involve, and was able to explain things to us simply and clearly. He was patient and took the time to answer all our questions, so that we understood all our options and felt comfortable with the proposal. He also helped us to make informed decisions about where to cut costs in order to keep the project within our budget, as well as where it was worth it to spend the money and not cut corners. The project itself went very smoothly. Everyone on the team was friendly, and they worked very efficiently. A few times when questions or concerns came up, I called William and they were addressed immediately. One of our big worries when we started the project was that a company was going to come in with a low bid and then raise the price with “surprises” once the project started. William was very up front with the pricing, and let us know what would happen if they uncovered anything unexpected after the roof was opened up. Thankfully, no surprises were found, and we were billed the exact amount that we were initially quoted! A few small unexpected things even came up during the project that they could have easily “nickel and dimed” us for, but they just took care of them without any additional charges. The new roof, soffits, eves, fascia, and gutters that KeyPrime installed look great, and we are extremely happy! They did a great job restoring the beauty to our historic house. "He had a cancellation and was able to come out the day I called. He verified that we actually didn't have mold growing in the one area. Since that area was connected to an indoor hot tub room, he checked the tub room just to verify that all was ok in there. He gave me some tips on preventing mold in that tub room and informed me about some other areas to watch (as this was in the basement and we have had water get inside with heavy rain) and I asked him about some marks on my basement ceiling. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. Will definitely be calling if need for future services."

"First, the Blue Hills Roofing office answered the phone without sending me to voice mail. While this may appear trivial I did not have the same experience with some other companies in this area and in some instances my voice mail message was never acknowledged.  A technician, Tony, was dispatched within a few hours of my call and he provided me with a thorough explanation of the work that was needed as well as an estimate that proved to be exactly on target. He was a true professional.  He was in constant touch with me by text or phone regarding the time he was going to arrive. As he was working, he periodically came down from the roof to explain what he was doing and why he was doing it. He worked constantly despite awful weather conditions. Most important, the new skylights and vent no longer leak.

"Had to wait two months due to the wide area of damage and number of people who had to have roofs. Roofers were quite busy this summer. But when they did show up they worked long and hard to get it done. Men showed up at 7 and worked some days till 8pm (with our permission). Very good crew and very professional except for overhearing occasional profanity. (Never when we were talking together.) Cleaned up and finished in less than 3 days. Price was, I thought, very competitive. I had an estimate on shingles that they actually beat with metal!! Would use them again but I hope I don't have to!"

"In 2017, when I was looking to purchase a house in the Rockford area that was needing a full siding install I contacted GF Company in Belvidere. IL, who I found on Angie’s list and at that time GF Co had great reviews. Strangely enough these great reviews are no longer to be found on Angie’s List. It should also be noted there is a GF Siding in Cherry Valley. IL, this is Not the company that I did business with. Ariel Zmijewski (the owner) got me a quote quickly and I decided to purchase the house. A few months later in July 2017, I contacted Ariel again to discuss the finer points of the quote, the price was revised slightly and the Ariel mentioned that once a deposit was paid work could start 6-8 weeks later, but said the install would be finished before the cold weather arrived. I started creating a color layout and Ariel provided some feedback on what would work and not work. To this point I was very happy with progress. In September 2017 I paid a deposit of over $8k (about 44% of final price) and awaited updates for a start date. Nothing happened. In early March 2018 I contacted GF Co by phone stating that I had been very patient and they had had $8k as a deposit for the last 6 months and I had nothing to show for it. After a couple more calls and emails Ariel showed up with his foreman Mark and they said that work would start in the middle of the following week. Much to my surprise the work started on time. Over the course of the next 4 weeks Mark and his crew worked hard, only missing a few days due to bad weather, I even agreed to having some extra work done by the team, some wooden entrance steps that needed replacing for an additional $2.5k. By early May 2018 the job was finished the house looked great and I was very happy with the work and appearance and was getting compliments from neighbors too. The balance of owed of over $10k was paid with 48 hours of the work being finished. Again I was happy with work done, until… A few months after the install a TV cable box started having troubles. Cut a long story short the wall socket died because cable was suddenly defective, also the crew had moved the exterior cable input box and this didn’t help the issue. Comcast fixed it, but I now have an exterior cable showing and they had to drill through the siding. Then around Halloween 2018, less than six months after having the install completed, I noticed that a piece of siding (6ft approx.) had become detached underneath a window, trying to pop it back into place did not resolve the issue. After checking all the other exterior windows I noticed 1 other window was about to do the same thing. I called the GF Company main number and left a message with the receptionist for Ariel to contact me. No response. I called again a couple of times and left more messages still no response. In March 2019 siding problem under windows still Not fixed, I called GF Company again, no answer, and no voice mail. I called a couple more times on different days still no answer or voice mail. I then sent an email to the company and to my surprise I received a response from Ariel stating this was the first that he had heard of it. About a week later (3/26/19) he showed up at my house to view the problem. Ariel stated that he would get someone over to fix the problem, but would not give me a date or time. On 4/2/19 I emailed Ariel again asking for confirmation of a repair date ? Nothing but crickets… On 4/30/19, I sent another email to Ariel requesting that the repairs be completed before the end of May 2019, again no response. Quote / contract says: Customers will receive a Lifetime Warranty on Material and Workmanship Reported GF Company to Illinois BBB on 6/5/19."

"It was great i was told by nick he would be at my place at 12 pm and he actually was 15 min earlies he set up my whole garage to work on cars exactly how i wanted and imagined he even built my work bench so it collapses into the wall like i wanted and put outlets in it as well he was reasonably priced and didnt rape me with labor i am having him come back this spring to redo my deck as well he was professionable and knowledgeable"
