"On my initial communication with JHOSS PLUMBING, I really experienced a great rapport. I was very pleased with his ability to listen attentively, act quickly and his ability to make the necessary connections with the third party to ensure scheduling for the Generator Inspection. I applaud Jeff's quick action and his skills to perform the duties to get the job done. I highly recommend Jeff w/JHOSS PLUMBING SERVICES for Inspections of your gas line and making quick connections with third parties to meet deadlines. I give him more than the average of 5 starts because of the aforementioned. Well worth the money!! â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸ â ï¸"

"Another company was sealing a leak in my basement, when removing concrete discovered the broken pipe. Water came flooding in. Called a plumber who recommended Wilson Wells. Called them at 9 in the morning, he was at the house by 1030 to look at it. Told me that he was going to try to make it out that afternoon. He showed up 3 hours later with another fellow. They had to dig down 12 feet to get to the pipe in front of my house. Went out of his way to not destroy the concrete sidewalk in front of my house and to even not destroy the boxwood bush during digging. He was super fast, really professional, and charged me a reasonable amount."

"This is a family-owned business and it was the son-in-law Brian who came to do the job. He was the nicest person and very professional. He got here when we said he would. He knew just what the problem was and pointed out other things that we needed to know. The motor had burnt out in the pump. There were also items that should not have been flushed that was weighing the floater down in the septic hole. He replaced the pump, poured bleach in the hole (flies and larvae had somehow gotten in), sealed it way better than it had been, all within the estimated time of completion. The cost of the job was very reasonable and we would highly recommend them to anyone. They let you know before performing any work exactly what needs to be done and the cost."

"I was not getting water pressure inside the house.  I called a local plumber and the diagnosis was that the pump was running hot (drawing too much amp but not drawing water at appropriate rate and the well pump needed replacement.  Fortunately, the plumber did not have an opening until next week.  Decided to call Water Doctor since they installed my water treatment system two years ago and was able to get the next day appointment.  Water Doctor is great in that they have all the county record on the well. They recommended that a technician to come out and diagnose the problem first and if the pump needed to be replaced they recommend a higher flow and horsepower compared to the current one we have given the depth of the well and household size. Price quoted was much more reasonable than the local plumbing company.  Technician came out and found burnt wires at the well which he replaced.  Given he was still within the hour of service period, he replaced the worn out brass adapter that was leaking as well.  Vicky and team are great.  Highly recommend them for any work related to water treatment and well. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in Dunkirk, MD

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
