"<p>Craig met with us to scope the project, explain the process, show us color options, and provide an estimate for the work.  He was punctual and provided great input.  His was the only company among those we interviewed that provided base trim - your choice of 4" or 6" sections that run along the perimeter of the floor and up the walls.  It adds cost, but it really enhances the finished product.  Craig followed up with the estimate that evening.</p> <p>My wife and I were undecided on color.  Craig mentioned that he would on the road the following Monday and could drop by to show us the options again, including some new combinations.   With his help, we selected the tuxedo - black and white flakes on a grey background - and elected to add silver glitter to add depth to the finished floor.</p> <p>Craig provided us with references, since the number of reviews for his company on Angie's List was limited to less than a handful due to the short time that Garage Innovations has been included in <em>Garage Floor Sealer (Epoxy Flooring</em>).  What was impressive was not only the glowing recommendations, but that these references responded immediately.</p> <p>The overall cost of going with Garage Innovations, even adding the base trim and glitter options, was very competitive.</p> <p>Craig mentioned that a slot opened up that Friday and he could schedule us in.  Although we were in no particular hurry, the opportunity to finish earlier than anticipated was appreciated.</p> <p>The work staging was impressive.  Garrett was the first arrive and completed the grinding to prepare the surface for the primer coat and the initial concrete repair.  Prior to grinding, Garrett put up plastic to protect the door from the house to the garage.  He also taped around the door track touching the floor so it would not be sealed with the floor coating.</p> <p>At this stage, two more technicians arrived to assist in installing the base trim, complete the concrete repairs (the cracks were filled in with up to three coats of patching material), and begin installing the floors coating..</p> <p>Once the base trim and repairs were complete the technicians worked quickly to put down the primer coat.  The roll of each technician was well choreographed so the work went quickly and they did not get in each others way.</p> <p>Once the primer coat had cured sufficiently, the Garage Innovations team applied the second coat that would hold the color flakes and glitter.  Our garage is not huge, but they spread 6-7 large buckets of flakes on the floor to ensure coverage.</p> <p>The base trim took more time than anticipated and we agreed with the crew's recommendation to return on Saturday rather than work into the night.</p> <p>Garrett and another technician arrived at the appointed time on Saturday.  It took them about three hours to complete the install - vacuuming excess flakes, scraping to level the flakes, and applying the third coat of polyaspartic.</p> <p>They did a great job in cleaning up the job site.  When Garrett had to enter the house, he always put on booties to protect the floor, which was appreciated.</p> <p>Watching the Garage Innovations team work brought home the fact that this us definitely not a DIY project.  The finished floor looks amazing and has garnered the attention of some of our neighbors.<br /> <br /> </p>"

"I had watched this team elegantly refinish a deck with aluminum and glass railings in our home neighborhood.  When a deck at a rental home that I was managing for an overseas friend leaked into the master bedroom below, my longstanding suspicion of its deficient design was confirmed.  Since we ourselves owned the mirror-image duplicate of the troubled home as a rental next door, I brought in AK Kreutzer Construction, LLC, to brainstorm the problem with us and provide a quote for reconstructing and enlarging the troubled narrow deck by cantilevering an extension over its end.  This would enlarge the view deck and should also protect the sliding-door glass wall of the master bedroom below against rain run-off and excessive vertical sun. <br /> To address the anticipated complication of unknown but probable longstanding dry-rot in the master bedroom ceiling structures below the deck surface an additional, reasonable 'time and materials' repair cost  was also agreed on. <br /> Then we requested 10% off on twice the agreed-on price if the contractor could implement an identical prophylactic solution for our essentially identical deck next door as well; and the contractor agreed to this mutually attractive and efficient request. <br /> At this stage the Seattle architect and her husband who are the overseas owners of the leaking-deck home that triggered this exploration emphasized the desirability of additional quotes.  This request triggered our exploration of the Seattle HOME OWNERS CLUB": http://www.homeownersclub.org in which we enrolled our principal residence and our own Phinney Ridge rental house (for the annual fee of $54 for out home + $10 for each rental.)  This Club has long been used enthusiastically by a nearby friend to attend to indoor and outdoor house repair and maintenance needs. As anticipated, this Club promptly recommended two contractors.  However, unlike AK Kreutzer, these contractors did not check out as longstanding, well-established entities with impressive representation on the internet; and their less convincing vaguer approaches came in with quotes, via the HOME OWNERS CLUB at 240% and 320% of the quote from AK Kreutzer!!  Nor did either of the contractors specify how long the job would take and when it could be promised to be completed according to their open work schedule. <br /> Two excellent decks were completed by AK Kreutzer precisely as promised! <br /> Wieland von Behrens MD PhD <br />"

"Andrew's crew was prompt and courteous. They removed the old carpet, prepared the subfloor and laid cement board before they could even start on the slate installation.  I was most impressed with the work ethic of the stone installer.  He arrived every morning in good spirits, and worked hard all day.  We discussed the effect I was looking for, and the slate tiles which I pulled from each box as those I liked best.  This was a big job, over 700 square feet in the living room, entry, and kitchen, but he kept up a high production level and finished in record time.  He even liked my dogs! <br /> Andrew was patient with the time I took to pick just the right material and gave me suggestions.  The price was higher than other bids I had received, but I am very glad that I chose Emerald Isle Tile for this job, and I would give them my highest recommendation. <br />"
