"After I met Stuart, the owner of Summit painting, I knew I wanted to hire him for my painting needs. He was very professional, knowledgeable, competent in his line of work and just a really likeable guy. I was very comfortable with him and knew it would be a good fit. We discussed the scope of work which included painting and staining of a brand new stair case (along with interior walls) and he understood my expectations. I received a very clear bid from him that outlined in detail what the job included and any potential additional charges, which I appreciated. When painting day came....I couldnt have been any happier. His guys were amazing. They were on time, extremely professional, friendly, clean and tidy, efficient and amazing painters. They all worked so well together. I just have to say I was amazed at how much care they took to cover and protect all of my furniture. I just hand my kitchen remodeled and they were meticulous in their care. I am in love with the paint job and I am so glad that I trusted my gut and went with Summit painting. I plan to have them back to to paint my upstairs bedrooms soon. You will not be dissapointed. I'm thrilled."

"Iron Earth is the complete deal. They took down an 70 yr old garage that had seen much better days and replaced it with an exciting new garage and RV Port with a storage loft. Dan Faris and his crew did a marvelous job of tackling every step of the process; from planning, permitting, design, teardown, removal of old garage and every facet of the build. Unlike some contractors I've experienced in the past, he listened to our wants and needs. Discussing what could and couldn't be done while providing the details. I knew they were offering us to be partners in the process, not telling us what the project would be like others had. The team was professional and reliable i knew I could trust them in every facet. Iron Earth Construction and Dan Faris will be my go to for future projects, as I know I can rely on them. "

"The guys did such an amazing job! I wish I had taken a before and after photo of our driveway. I didn't realize how dirty/dark it became over the years. The team worked all day and pressurized/cleaned our front areas and it looks so much brighter! We also got our gutters and windows cleaned too, everything looks so nice ?"

"Excellent experience from beginning to end! Jessica is the owner of CertaPro Painters Eastside. She was amazing to work with. They sent out a designer to help me pick colors, were flexible when we had HOA delays, did a great job, and the owner came by during and after the project to make sure we were happy. Clear bid/contract. Angie's list discount. Wish every contractor would be so easy to work with."

"We first contacted Prime Coats in late March of 2018 to get a quote on painting our house [split level, about 2200 sq ft], garden shed, front porch and back deck. The owner, Nicole Persson, provided us with a detailed estimate & contract, and we spent several months to deciding on colors [we ended up hiring a color consultant--money well spent!] and adjusting the scope of work [we settled on just painting the house, to control costs]. We paid a deposit in early May and Nicole estimated she could start around mid-August. At the end of July, a two-man crew came out to wash the house. One guy sprayed on a cleaning solution and after it soaked in, the other guy followed him, rinsing the solution off with a pressure washer. 2-1/2 hours later they were done. Six days later (2nd week of August) a five-man crew came out and started painting, using a combination of spraying and brushing. In three days they had given the house two coats of paint. On the last day, the foreman also replaced a rotting fascia board (part of the contract) just below the roofline--17 feet off the ground. We did a walkaround and I found a few places that needed some touch-up, and these were fixed on the spot. The next day, somebody came by and picked up all the equipment, leaving us with the leftover paint and very little else to clean up. They did a good job and we're pleased with the result. Our neighbors are pleased with the result. We'd hire Prime Coats again."

FAQs for deck, fence, patio or porch clean and seal projects in Duvall, WA

You should clean your deck before sealing it. Cleaning before refinishing is critical. If you don’t remove dirt and debris, you'll trap moisture in the wood, which prevents the new sealer from working correctly and can lead to costly repairs. Whether you need to sand, power wash, or sandblast depends on your deck's condition.

Sealing and staining your deck are essential maintenance methods that protect and beautify your outdoor space. Stain adds rich color and guards against fading, while sealant fortifies the wood against moisture and weather damage. Wood type, climate, deck age, and the degree of existing damage determine whether your deck benefits from one or both treatments. Using both options extends your deck’s durability and enhances its overall appearance.

Power washing and sealing your deck costs $500 to $1,700. This process combines the removal of stubborn dirt and debris with a protective seal that preserves the wood’s integrity. Effective cleaning eliminates harmful buildup, and a proper seal prevents moisture damage and wood decay, ensuring long-term durability and reducing future repair expenses.

Your deck must be sealed every one to three years to maintain its strength and appearance. Regular sealing is essential to protect the wood against moisture, mold, and harmful UV rays. A consistent sealing schedule prevents rapid deterioration and costly repairs. Inspections should be performed annually to determine if the protective layer remains intact, extending the life of your deck.

Leaving your deck untreated compromises its structural integrity and safety. An unprotected deck rots quickly due to moisture and environmental exposure, which means that neglecting sealing results in rapid decay and expensive replacement costs of $4,125 to $11,650. Sealing your deck is essential for maintaining its durability and protecting your home.

The sealant on your deck dries within a few hours and reaches full cure within 72 hours before regular use. It is essential to wait until the complete curing period to ensure the protective layer fully sets and resists weather and foot traffic. Proper drying guarantees that your deck is fully protected against moisture and environmental damage, ensuring lasting quality.
