"Overall experience was positive. The diagnosis was good and only required a $15 part that was able to install myself. My frig is working great. While my total cost for the repair was $80 which included the $35 diagnostic fee, the lowest other price quote was over $400. I am very pleased with this new type of appliance repair. I will be recommending this my family and friends."

"We have ordered several replacement parts for various appliances (dishwasher, refrigerator, washer) and everything has always been satisfactory.  Website shows videos on how to install certain parts and also include a diagram of your appliance.  Fast shipping.  Very helpful! <br />"

"They came right out to see what was wrong, diagnosed the problem and found a motor to replace the non-working one. Had to come out the next day and took about half an hour to fix everything the way it should be. We've been customers for many years and we're always very satisfied with the service and customer relations!!"

"Scott came out to do the repairs. I had several plumbing issues and didn't expect to have them all completed the same day, but Scott managed to get them all done in one afternoon, including making s run for parts and a new disposal. He explained the cause of each issue and his planned fix before he went ahead. Most of of it ended up being relatively small repairs but I know some plumbers would have replaced rather than fixed to make more money. Very honest, good communication, reasonable pricing, skilled work - I will call them for all of my plumbing needs."

"Very well.  Their goodwill has earned my determination to go to their website next time I need replacement appliance parts. In fact I already have another part for our dryer on order from them."

"We have hired West Side Appliance several times over the years, for appliances in 2 different houses, incl, stove repair (x2), dryer repair and vent cleaning, refrigerator repair, and washer repair. They are always professional and knowledgeable, and have always been very good about discussing options (i.e. when a repair is not needed or would not be warranted given the age and condition of the appliance). All of the repairs they have performed have worked well and needed no further adjustments/work. I will continue to hire them, and recommend them to anyone who asks. I wouldn't say they work cheaply, but having things done correctly the first time, and getting honest advice about when repairs are NOT needed is worth a lot."

"<p>Very pleased with the new furnace and cost savings. Job did not go as smoothly as it could have however. Old furnace was still running but making loud clunk at ignition. Called and spoke with Al, he came out right away and diagnosed my old unit with a cracked heat exchanger. Plausible, since it was about 17 yrs old, and advised us it was not safe. Was early spring and not terribly cold so ran on space heaters for the 2 days or so until it was to be replaced. Day before scheduled work, got a call that the crew was sick and install had to be postponed. It happens, but then it happened again and temps were dropping below freezing - was told at that time the old unit was ok to turn back on.....hmm. Day of install, crew was on time and did a professional job. Didn't see any cracks on the exchanger when it was sitting in my drive, but again, my bills are lower and I'm ok with the replacement costs. Took over 2 months however to receive my MidAm rebate, along with another call to Al when I found MidAm hadn't even received it after 6 weeks. Grade for me is B-. Perhaps more staff/office support would relieve the issues I ran into?</p> <br />"

FAQs for fridge, freezer or ice maker repair or service projects in Earlham, IA

Most ice makers are similar in design, and some parts are interchangeable. However, if your ice maker has advanced filters or special features, it's best to use the same make and model to ensure everything works properly. Ask your appliance repair pro to check your appliance specifications to be sure.

With regular use and proper maintenance, an ice maker typically lasts about four to five years. If you keep up with tasks like changing the filters every six months, you might get up to 10 years out of your ice maker. Address any problems with your ice maker right away by calling an appliance professional to ensure you solve any issues before they escalate, helping to keep your ice maker running smoothly for longer.

Your refrigerator's age plays a big role in deciding whether to repair or replace the ice maker. If your fridge is nearing the end of its average 14-year lifespan, it might not be worth investing in expensive repairs since other parts could fail soon. Getting a diagnosis from a refrigerator repair pro can help you decide what's best.
