"The entire project, from initial quote to completion went very smoothly. Tim's professionalism, honesty and integrity were evident before, during and after the sale. Much easier to work with than the other companies we got quotes from. Jan was very helpful making sure we had all the tools we needed to choose the materials we wanted and scheduling. The crew worked tirelessly, completing the job in one day and cleaned up afterwards. Any and all issues were taken care of immediately. We would highly recommend Des Moines Area Roofing and would not hesitate using them again."

"These guys are awesome. Second time using them and both times had the same level of great service. Their main leadership team clearly has laid down a great culture/ethos that the folks on the ground execute. John and his crew were very reliable, on time and communicative. Took care not to damage my stuff and the building. Super organized about how to move. The all-in-cost:service ratio makes hiring this company a no brainer."

"I hired Don Hill to paint the exterior of my 1 1/2 story house and single car detached garage. Don gave an estimate for $2000 to be paid at the end of the job with customer supplies all materials which Don picked out and I went to great lengths to ensure he had. Don started a few days after we both signed his contract. He picked up some materials on his way to my house and brought a receipt with him to show his cost; I wrote him a check for $100.00 to cover these materials. After hunting down primer and paint Don and his son Josh got to work. First by pressure washing my house and using my pressure washer (because theirs was not operable). Next, they painted with primer followed up with paint. I asked Don to do a second coat for an additional $1000.00 which he agreed to. However, he asked for payment regarding the $1000.00 early stating he needed to pay his workers (the people he had to call to replace his son after he terminated him over the telephone while standing in my driveway.) The bottom line the workers he hired were inaccurate with their paint lines and paint removal process too. While spraying paint on my house there were windows, doors, fences, and parts of my composite deck that were mistakenly sprayed too. There was paint left on doorknobs of most doors which were not cleaned off. Plus the exterior floodlights on my garage (3 sets) were removed by Dons son but never reinstalled. Ultimately the house looks better with the new color. However, I am very unimpressed with the quality of work and attention to detail shown with Dons clean-up efforts. I paid him $3000.00 total, reimbursed him for supplies, purchased all supplies necessary to complete my job (including extra supplies Don took with him which I purchased - tape, cardboard, misc.) When contacting him to complete his tasks at my home Don has stated via text **I am beginning to think you are trying to get something for free**"

FAQs for waste, junk, building materials and debris removal and hauling projects in Earlham, IA

Begin by disconnecting power to eliminate electrical hazards. Then, locate the drain valve and attach a garden hose to direct water away from structures. Be mindful of local regulations regarding chemical-treated water disposal, as some jurisdictions prohibit draining into storm sewers or natural water bodies.

After the main drainage, use a shop vacuum or pump to remove residual water from footwells and plumbing lines. Complete drainage makes the unit lighter for removal and prevents water damage during the process.

Functional hot tubs in good condition can often be sold or donated rather than discarded. Local classified listings or online marketplaces provide platforms for finding interested buyers, though you should clearly indicate whether the buyer must handle removal.

Some charitable organizations accept hot tub donations, particularly those serving veterans or community centers. For non-operational units, salvage yards might accept them for component recycling. Always disclose the unit's condition and any known issues to potential recipients.

The reclaimed area offers numerous possibilities for repurposing. Deck spaces can be restored with new decking materials or converted to seating areas. In-ground installation sites work well for garden beds, fire pits, or patio extensions.

For concrete pad foundations, consider creating an outdoor kitchen, installing a pergola, or establishing a container garden. Local landscaping professionals can provide design ideas tailored to your specific space and preferences.

Professional electrical expertise is highly recommended when disconnecting hot tubs from power sources. Most units operate on dedicated 220-240-volt circuits that present significant safety hazards if improperly handled.

Licensed local electricians ensure proper power termination, wire capping, and electrical panel updates. While some removal services include basic electrical disconnection, complex installations often require specialized knowledge to prevent safety issues and ensure code compliance.
