"i have used Herber Plumbing for my plumbing issues since 1981. i called on a Sunday night and had someone here first thing Monday morning. Bob Herber as always was prompt and delivered as promised. The tech, Joe was professional and did a good job. i know whenever i hire them the job will be done right and they always stand behind their work. If possible they will help you solve a problem on the phone and save you the cost of a service call. Terrific well run company."

Customers say: True professional

"For years I have wanted to update my very old and inefficient American Standard cast iron boiler. I was very fortunate to find Mr Joe Burriesci the owner of Mayjac Plumbing who took the time to evaluate the best options, since the old boiler handled two apartments. We collectively decided to go with two Navien Combi Condensing Boilers, but the best part of the entire process was how meticulous the installation was done. From start to finish Mayjac Plumbing kept every promise and timeline made. I highly recommend Mayjac Plumbing..."

"I recently engaged Joe Sampson plumbing to replace a boiler and hot water heater along with some additional domestic water and gas piping work. From the onset, my experience with Joe Sampson and his entire team was top notch - very professional, great customer service, showed up on time, and the team took effort to be neat, clean up, and provide a professional grade installation. The team also made sure to check in with suggestions on how to improve ideas on the project which as a homeowner I truly appreciated. The bottom line is I would recommend Joe Sampson and his team without reservation."

"I could not be more pleased. Tom, the proprietor was very easy to reach, very punctual and very professional. For both jobs, the quotes were very competitive, undercutting other quotes in both cases. When it came time to do the job, they showed up right on time, worked very efficiently and delivered very neat quality results. I feel like I paid handyman prices yet got quality expert work. Fox plumbing are honest, consummate pro's. I will not hesitate to use again."

"As always, the process was flawless! I have used Right One Plumbing several times through the past 5 years.  As executrix of my father's estate, I was left his property ownership business to run.  Dennis from Right One Plumbing has always been there to answer my calls and dispatch a repairman as soon as necessary.  The work is always completed quickly, flawlessly and economically.  If necessary Dennis will call with several options and costs. <br />"

"I would definitely hire him again. Chuck was responsive and reliable. He did a lot of the work himself and when he wasn't doing the work he was there to set up his workers and instruct them on what to do. He's trustworthy. He's a pretty small operation so I don't think he's the guy to build you a brand new house 8000 sf house but an extension, a kitchen or bathroom remodel or handyman services he can do."

"Cris, from Crisvalih Home Remodelation, and his team did an excellent job! Our small bathroom has a slanted ceiling and skylight and we were concerned about the layout and how to make everything fit. Cris was very helpful in providing ideas and suggestions for making the best use of the space including building a custom cabinet. He pointed out plumbing concerns from when the bathroom was originally installed and addressed all issues. Cris was very professional and easy to work with. We are very pleased with our beautiful new bathroom and would definitely use Crisvalih for other projects in our home."

FAQs for plumbing installation for a remodel or addition projects in East Hampton, NY

Adding bathroom plumbing to a detached garage starts with the basic line installation cost of $900 to $1,300. On top of this base expense, you'll need to budget for each fixture. A toilet costs  $250 to $550, sinks cost $150 to $800, and a shower or bathtub costs $400 to $1,900. The project will also require ventilation, moisture-resistant materials, and possibly electrical work. Remember that these costs reflect only the plumbing aspects—additional construction, finishing, and permitting expenses will apply to complete a functional bathroom space.

While certain aspects of garage renovation might be suitable for DIY enthusiasts, plumbing installation requires professional expertise. Connecting to water and sewer systems demands specialized knowledge and equipment, and improper installation can result in severe water damage, code violations, and potential health hazards. Most municipalities require permits for plumbing modifications, and these often stipulate that licensed professionals must perform work. Consider limiting your involvement to simpler tasks like painting or basic finishing work.

The timeframe for adding plumbing to a detached garage spans one to three days for the actual plumbing work. However, this represents only the active installation period. The complete project timeline must account for planning, obtaining permits (which can take weeks depending on your locality), coordinating multiple contractors if needed, and addressing any unexpected challenges that arise during installation. Weather conditions can also impact excavation and outdoor connection work.

Adding plumbing to a detached garage will likely increase your property taxes. Tax assessors consider plumbing an improvement that enhances property value and functionality. The specific tax impact varies by location and project scope. Converting a garage into living space with plumbing facilities can trigger significant reassessment in many jurisdictions. Before proceeding with your project, consult your local tax assessor's office to understand the potential tax implications and factor this ongoing expense into your decision-making process.
