"I hired Erickson for a radon system. All the pros in my area charged about the same price for one. Erickson differed because of the knowledge they shared and they are also one of the few places that have a 10 year warranty. I paid a little more for the 10 year warranty system and I am glad I do not have to worry about one thing in my house for a while now. The team came in and installed my system in just under 3 hours. They were professional and respectful. All in all, I think I made the right decision choosing Erickson."

"Kevin Morrison is a classy, honest, punctual, responsive and a very thorough professional. I had him help me inspect a home I am planning to buy and was extremely pleased with his work. He answered emails, texts, and phone calls was very patient, showed 5 mins before the job start, came back on the weekend to install radon kit and back on Monday to collect it. Very respectful of people's properties and personable. He is a straight shooter and never tells you what you want to hear, but rather what you need to know. I will definitely hire Kevin for any home related work that he would be willing to do and recommend him confidently for home buying inspection."

"Tim's inspection was incredibly detailed. He spent nearly 5 hours with us reviewing every inch of our home. In fact, when we arrived at the scheduled inspection time, Tim was already on-site, had walked the perimeter of the house, and was ready to show us the exterior issues he had already identified. From there we reviewed every room of the home and every major system. <br /> The end result was a report over 100 pages long containing annotated photos of every issue identified in the home. This helped us in negotiating the final price of the home and in creating a list of maintenance and improvement projects for the future of our property. <br /> Tim also helped to arrange a septic inspection performed by a septic specialist. He did this free of charge and made the process of having every system in the house vetted very easy. <br />"

"Very nice to work with during the inspection, great tips, thorough. only thing that was not good, was the format of the inspection report delivered. it was very hard to follow/read, with a lot of redundant info, and odd organization to the items. the report was very frustrating to read and try to inventory and categorize lists of issues to bring to buyer as part of the related negotiation."

"<p>it was superb! they easiest, hassle free Radon test in town, with extremely proficient people -- very knowledgeable and very people-friendly! they took their time to explain things on the phone to me before I committed. the test came back within 10 days or so -- via email. which is very convenient. it was very clear as it is, but I like talking through it and get advice. they were instantly available to discuss. they gave me future tips to keep on top of all things Radon related. </p> <p>I have to say that all this comes to be after 3 months of many back and forths with 3 other companies -- none of the other companies could be bothered to schedule a time, and those who did, never showed up.. many times over. I don't know why I was so patient with them and I wish had discovered Environmental Testing & Research Laboratories much sooner.</p> <p>Really highly recommend them!</p> <br />"

"I explained to Jeff that I had bought a new condo, which was new construction, and I had concerns that the HVAC was not properly working and I wasn't getting enough clean air. Jeff was able to come the very next day. He is incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what he does. He conducted many tests - toxic gas levels, dust, mold, dander, etc. After about 30 minutes of testing, he identified I had a slow gas leak in my gas fireplace, which apparently had not been installed right. He stayed with me while the gas company came to remedy the situation. I am so grateful for him or I would never have known about the leak, which was probably contributing to health issues I was having. He also was able to turn around the other lab results incredibly quickly. Several others in my building have since hired him. Can't recommend him enough."

"I had no water pressure on a Saturday afternoon.  Epping Well & Pump answered the phone and promptly sent a knowledgeable and capable crew to diagnose and fix the problem on the spot.  They had the right parts with them, and the technicians were courteous and professional.  I would use them again. <br />"

FAQs for radon gas testing projects in East Kingston, NH

Radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S. The gas seeps through cracks in foundations and collects in basements and other low areas. Once you breathe it in, radioactive particles lodge in lung tissue and do long-term damage. Because you can’t see or smell radon, the EPA recommends testing your home every two years—and after major renovations—to keep your family safe.

Yes—every home should be tested. The EPA advises doing it at least every two years and any time you remodel, buy, or sell. On average, one in 15 houses nationwide sits above the recommended limit, and the only way to know where yours stands is a formal test. The equipment simply measures gas levels and won’t change your indoor environment, so the process is completely harmless.

Certified radon professionals—often home inspectors or dedicated radon mitigation contractors—handle testing. These radon testing professionals follow EPA protocols and use calibrated instruments to check levels throughout your house. Hiring a certified radon specialist means results you can trust for real estate deals, insurance requirements, and, most importantly, your family’s health.

Inspectors specialize in measuring radon gas levels, while licensed mitigation contractors design and install the systems that remove it. If your test comes back high, your inspector can point you to a qualified mitigation pro who will size and install the right fan, piping, or other equipment to bring levels down.

No—standard home air purifiers don’t touch radon. They’re built to trap dust and pollen, not radioactive gas. If testing shows high levels, you’ll need a dedicated mitigation system that vents the gas from beneath your home to the outdoors. Relying on a room purifier alone won’t keep your indoor air safe.

Opening a few windows in your home might dilute radon for a short time, but the gas seeps back in as soon as they’re closed. For a lasting fix, you’ll need a professional mitigation system—often a sub-slab depressurization fan—that pulls radon from beneath the foundation and safely vents it outside.
