"Called the office and asked for an evaluation and estimate on the job. Replace pump and float with new fittings. Someone would be over to look at the issue in a few hours. Even sooner Wes showed up and evaluated the situation and current piping set up. Clearly stated what was needed and provided an estimate and time to complete the job. He and his assistant left and said they would be back quickly after picking up the necessary pump and supplies to complete the job and how long it would take. They came back as they said and began the project explaining the whole time what happened, and the improved check valve and pump replacement were more efficient and less likely to have issues when the float is attached to the pump. Wes was efficient, experienced and willing to explain what he was doing and why. Gave some wonderful tips on avoiding issues in the future and clearly was sincerely passionate about his work. When they were finished, we had a much better system for the sump and piping. I would highly recommend Best Flo as a company that delivers more than expected and highly competent, experiences associates to resolve issues you may have with sewer or plumbing issues."

"I spoke with Mike Pepi on the phone, he sounds a little gruff but in person he is very proffesional and explains everything if you are willing to listen. He explained hydro jetting, as a method of removing the waterproof slime that coats the cesspool walls and prevents it from draining. Don't expect a pump truck to arrive at your house, the tools for hydro jetting fit in a truck more suitable for plumbers. My house has an iron cover on the septic tank so Mike removed the cover and cold see the drain was not visible and then he asked me to flush all the toilets while he listened to the plumbing vent on the side of the house, he could tell from the sound that the water was not clearing the drain pipe. He found the cover, which was about three feet deep and pulling off the cover it broke into pieces and from the black color in the cracks he could tell that it had been soaking in the water for some time, looking inside I could see the cesspool was almost at the top. Mike set up a pump with two hoses one extracted water from the pool and the other fit with a long pipe jetted high pressure water back into the cesspool. As he started jetting the walls of the tank the water began draining and dropped way down probably 8 to 10 feet (the pool is three rings deep). Mike then called his partner and he arrived with a new cover and extension collar to bring the cover up another 18 inches or so. <br /> Hydro Jetting was new to me, but if it allows the cesspool to drain then it's fixing the problem rather than simply making space in a clogged system.   <br /> If you don't hear from me again on this assume it's working fine. <br /> <br /> <br />"

"They successfully repaired a French Drain that had been in use for over 30 years and had recently developed issues. The work exceeded expectations, with a clean process and minimal noise from the jackhammer inside the house. The system now functions as if it were new. Their expertise with older systems was evident."

"Great! They sent out a technician immediately after a catastrophic raw sewage flood (yes, it was as disgusting as it sounds). Two new pumps were put in, and the technician who came was excellent! He could have told me the back up pump and battery needed to be replaced as well, but he was honest and just sold me what I needed to make the system run again. Thank you for your honesty, as well as the quick and reliable service. Would definitely recommend this company!"

"Ed responded to my home at 9:00 AM as promised. By now, I had 5 other waterproofing companies recommended by either Home Advisor or Angies List over for estimates and was fairly used to the routine. A big book carried by the salesman touting their particular organization on BBB, Home Advisor, Angie's List Google, Yelp, etc...Then an examination of the basement and in a few cases, the exterior of the house. Then came the "doom and gloom" part of the presentation... The majority of the salesmen would educate me on Hydro-static pressure and the danger it presented to my house. Evidently, we were living in a clay pot filled with water that was constantly apply pressure and attempting to enter my house through cracks in the foundation. I was also reminded of the constant rise in the "water table" in my area (Malverne). The only resolution to this dilemma was apparently to dig a perimeter ditch on the interior of my basement walls, install a "french drain" or some similar variation of plastic tubing with perforated holes, install a sump pump ( or 2) and seal in the drain with concrete. The damage to the "finished" basement would have been substantial and MY responsibility to make whole again! :( . Some variance in the pricing was based on the amount of perimeter suggested to be covered. From either the one wall where the water was coming in to the whole basement to prevent future occurrences... From $5000- $13,000. Again, NOT INCLUDING my cost to repair the damage to my sheet rock walls, baseboard and baseboard heating repairs... Add another $3-3500. Only one contractor suggested sealing the wall on the exterior which involved excavation , hydro-static cement to fill the cracks, Karnac tar, a membrane and a vapor barrier for $5,600. Enter Edward from E & M Waterproofing... No big book, 5 minutes in my basement and and a quick look outside. He informs me that I should dig out the dirt by the casement window approximately 20 inches down and back fill with gravel six inches from the sill. I also installed a new plastic shield above said window. I asked him about all the "doom and gloom" scenarios that I had already absorbed over the last week and he stated that since my leakage was event driven (Rain), he did not believe that I had water coming from underneath my house. The water table in my area HAD NOT risen and that the installation of "french drains" would be useless and ineffective in my case. The kicker was when he found my sewer trap and pointed out that I had "a hole in my foundation" where the pipe went into the ground. If my house was indeed taking on water, this would have been the first place I would have seen it!. It was dry as a bone. He also, gave me an estimate ($3,500 ) to seal the outside wall if necessary ( for my peace of mind, just in case). He did not charge for his advice and told me that he had 10 more estimates to complete knowing that he might only get 4-5 jobs due to his honesty. Needless to say, I followed his instructions that day (Mid-August) and have not had a drop of water since then. All in all, I would highly recommend E & M Waterproofing to anyone with any kind of water issues in their homes. I felt a little bit like Diogenes the Cynic until I met Edward, who has restored some of my faith in mankind... :)"

"The person performing the service had to make several trips because one of the "new" parts turned out to be faulty. I found both Complete Protection and their local repair contractor to be both very responsive and totally professional at every stage of the repair process."

"On the morning of Christmas Eve, I discovered that both sump pumps had failed in my basement and there was about an inch of water on the floor. I called my usual plumber and left a message. I was concerned about finding someone given the holidays, so I then I looked up plumbers on Angie's List and found that Right One had good reviews. I called and Dennis answered. He said he would check on availability of staff and called me back in 15 minutes to let me know he had someone who would arrive shortly. They guy was at my house about a half hour later. He was joined by a second plumber who finished up the job for him. Both were nice and very professional. I would recommend them. <br />"

FAQs for sump pump repair or replace projects in East Moriches, NY

Sump pumps last about 10 years with proper maintenance and prompt repairs. Several factors can influence your sump pump’s lifespan, such as usage, environmental conditions, and installation. Premium sump pumps with heavy-duty motors and quality components tend to last longer than lower-cost models. Pedestal sump pumps usually last longer than submersible models since they’re not constantly exposed to water.

A basement French drain is a drainage system installed in basements or around a building’s foundation to redirect water and prevent flooding. This system features a trench with a perforated pipe that catches and transports water away. These systems can crack, freeze, or clog, potentially resulting in flooding or strain on your sump pump.

You can use a sump pump in your yard to minimize pooling water and landscape damage, but it’s best used in conjunction with other drainage systems. This can include French drains, trench drains, underground downspouts, and other equipment. Proper lawn care, such as soil aeration and native plants, also aids with drainage.
