"After interviewing several contractors, we hired Gleason{ removed company name} contracting for an extensive fireplace renovation and hardwood floor installation project, and we are so glad we did. Mike and his team refaced our oversized brick fireplace with stacked stone, custom cutting, color matching, and fitting the stone throughout perfectly. Work requiring attention to detail, like the interior of wood box, corners, and installing and finishing the drywall accommodations for mounting the tv, look absolutely outstanding. The hearth was so wide that we could not find a precut slab, but Mike had a connection with a stone mason who fabricated a beautiful, singular blue stone slab approximately ten feet in length, solving yet another challenge. In addition to the fireplace place, they laid the flooring, and stayed on to paint the walls and ceilings. During the work, communication was great. We were kept up-to-date on progress and future work plans. Any questions or concerns were thoughtfully addressed, and all work was done with the utmost care and craftsmanship. Dave came out and gave us an estimate within 2 days, he followed up with us like a professional and went over the quote line by line. Ronaldo and his crew are absolutely professional and work extremely hard, show up early and work all day. They have complete attention to detail in their work. They went above and beyond replacing rotted siding as well. My other quotes and other jobs I've hired out, I legitimately had to chase down the contractors. These guys I never had to do that. "Miguel Amaya is not only an honest, fair and hard working person but he has integrity that is truly rare (and uplifting) in this day and age. I live in Westfield, NJ and had him redo my front walkway. Miguel went out of his way to make sure that I was satisfied with the finished product. He was forced to return because I was sold defective SEK Polysweep product by an unscrupulous vendor. Mr. Amaya redid the work by replacing the SEK product with the much better Gator Maxx polymeric sand. if you need hardscaping work done, hire Miguel Amaya, a decent, hard working, honest professional. STAY AWAY from Empire Building Supplies (see my review on them) and SEK Polysweep -- the product is garbage and the people who make/sell it know nothing about being good people who TRUTHFULLY care about fairness and/or their customer. Mr. Amaya would not accept my paying him a second time although he was forced do the job twice through no fault of his own. It was so unjust ** and yet so telling of the type of decent human being that Miguel Amaya is. Unlike the others I dealt with (at Empire and SEK), he was more interested in doing the right thing by me than he was about money. How rare. I was lucky to find such a good person and worker. I highly recommend him."
